Starter kit for a mate completed.

My father's day post sparked interest in de shaving and put this together for a mate this morning. He's a daily face/head shaver so the slim can be set to mild for a run over.

Wish I knew what I did now and this was my first setup.

Blue devil peppermint patch
Squadron group captains blend
Yaqi 26mm
Avon Tai Winds
Alum matchsticks
Assorted blades
1964 Gillette slim adjustable.

Nice! I like that you have given him some styptic sticks too not that he will need it with a beautiful slim. That Slim looks to be in excellent condition too.
Definitely a lucky bloke.
Neat assortment of blades. Is that Racer blades in the back there?

Yeah the slim is nice.

And well spotted. The Racer is a decent blade if you don't need to knock down a lot of stubble.

Fantastic collection of blades.
I've always wondered about the Racer blades. I have had 100 kicking around for many years. Sounds like a good follow up blade.

Update from my mate. He's not one to do a review after just one shave.

: It's made him slow down and not rush the process
:It's gone from chore to ritual
: He's using aftershave for the 1st time ever and wife loves it
:He still hasn't cut himself
:He's resisted dialling up razor. Stuck with setting 5
:It's made him aware of scents and what really does speak to him
: He's enjoying using a brush.
: He's not listened to the haters saying it's dangerous and you can't get a good shave
: He's learnt he pushed carts too far and suffered as a result.
:His skin feels awesome.
