I have tonight pushed through a Tapatalk update, we are now on the latest v4.8.1 release of the server-side software.
There is also now full push notifications occurring from the forums to mobile devices - if you have subscribed to a thread via Tapatalk you should get notifications of replies in your app, and also PM message notifications and things like that.
If you do not want push notifications in your app then I suggest you turn off this feature within the settings of Tapatalk.
