I don’t remember writing in my post that the Pils is the best DE ever, but it is in my top 10.
The only razors in my collection that I like more are the RS-10 and the H&S No75, but that’s probably because I am more familiar with them. When it comes to construction and build quality I would put this razor against any other razor in my collection. This is a precision made razor with extremely high fit and finish. It is also a very unique razor and it is safe to say that no other razor looks like it. From a historical point of view, you could argue that this razor along with the Feather started the modern trend in stainless steel DE razor manufacturing. The Pils razor proved that wet shavers were willing to pay for a high quality product hence the proliferation of other manufacturers of high quality razors (Wolfman, Timeless, ATT, Blackland, Oneblade, H&S, Charcoal, etc.,).
