What's the quickest way into wet shaving Aussie winter seasons

I use a bath robe, made of towelling. Keeps me very warm. Only problem is I get soap around the neck area on it, and it eventually builds up and cakes. Needs a good soaking to fix. But get a white one so you don't have to worry about discolouration.
