I need to restock a few shirts, well I have a fair selection of business shirts (either blue or white - I'm at work not at a nightclub) and I received a recommendation to try Charles Tyrwhitt who do 4 non-iron, all cotton business shirts for $200.00 which is quite frankly incredibly cheap as I typically pay $160 to $240 or thereabouts per shirt. By way of further information I wear them with a suit and of course a tie when in the office or other places I have to 'appear'.

Has anyone here ordered from them recently or had any experience as to the quality, fit or cut of these shirts ?
CT are my current go to brand. I've used TM Lewin before and I think that the CT are a little better quality wise.

The quality is fine IMHO and being able to get variable length sleeves is what really attracts me. Sleeve that FIT rather than being half way up your forearms is important. I would be interested in hearing from those who buy the more expensive brands as to what they see as the benefits. To me a plain white (or blue) shirt is simply the backdrop for a tie :)

Keen to hear responses as well. I'm in need myself.

I used CT for years, the shirts are very good for them price, but I fall in between their sleeve lengths, and don't want to pay for custom, so now buy mostly Uniqlo.

They are relentless spammers when you register though, as they push their online sales very hard

Well I "pulled the trigger" as our friends across the pond like to say on 4 Non Iron, Cotton twill shirts from CT. With the addition of a pocket the total was $250 even including postage which is the mid point of what I would usually pay for a single shirt.

Appreciate the prompt, accurate feedback and experience here too from other business shirt wearing members. I had the order page open ready to hit 'submit' but thought I would wait in case there were any horror stories!

I will post some follow up remarks once they land and I have had a chance to put them through their paces for a week or so.

I know you guys won't believe it, but Costco has 100% cotton non-iron shirts for ~20$ and they are seriously great.

Especially since they come with different arm lengths to collar diameter, so even I can get a shirt that actually fits...

Oh, and they do come in plain (blue, white) colours...

Well @alfredus I believe it!

You should too @todras - http://www.costco.com/mens-dress-shirts.html

Jermyn Street head office still means production in SE Asia!

@Drubbing is right about their service. I made a mistake with sizing (a downside of late night ordering and not wanting to disturb my wife to check) and the return and exchange process was seamless.

As long as you compare the FOUR shirts you are getting with the ONE you would otherwise have I think you we will OK. I would be interested in your thoughts though.

Yes, look at $50 a shot I am not expecting too much but from reading various forums people say they are decent shirts, if they turn out to be terrible I will launder them and donate to a local clothing charity or some such.

Gee whiz - I hope you don't think they are THAT bad (or I hope I never meet you wearing one ...)

I've got a few of these and to be honest they arent my favourite. I dont like the feel of the fabric - it just feels a little plastic-y to me. I prefer the MJ Bale shirts or the Brooks Brothers shirts (I also prefer the sizing and colour/pattern range of BB).

I have been wearing the shirts for a week or so now so I thought I would drop some feedback. I went with the classic, non-iron with the pocket and the English cuff. None of this continental stuff for me thank you very much.

For the money they are great value, I found myself in the middle of the arm length so they sit fractionally proud of standard drop the end of my suit jackets but not so much as to cause any significant problems. For the cost they are a reasonable shirt, the brass collar inserts are a nice novelty however I just hope I remember to remove them prior to laundering as I suspect the brass will distend during the wash cycle.

I will see how they fair after a month or 3 of being worn and washed.

Overall I am happy, they are an affordable shirt with a nice cut.

Just a heads up courtesy of my wife..

Charles Tyrwhitt currently has a special running for Australians where you get 3 business shirts for $99

If not already posted, a very useful size and measurement comparison site for this manufacturer can be found here
Seems a certain shirt vendor has been a bit naughty come a cropper with the ACCC.

http://www.smh.com.au/business/cons...eading-pricing-on-shirts-20160917-grihuk.html
Click through your link above and you will notice this (ACCC required?) banner -

Shirts only $39.95 each or 3 for $99
OOPS! Due to some hiccups here at HQ we have mistakenly over stated some of the previous or ‘strikethrough’ prices on our shirts. We represented in our catalogues that shirts were previously priced at $100 or $110, when they had actually been previously offered to customers at prices lower than $100 or $110. This means that your actual saving may be lower than stated. We are very sorry for the confusion. All offer prices are correct and remain excellent value so please don’t miss out!

I had 3 more of their shirts arrive today, even with the misleading statements for which they were rightly fined, they are still a good value reasonably looking business shirt.

Interestingly I'd clicked on the 3 for $99 link you posted the day you did so, or maybe the next. I was interested in the 'business casuals' which you can get in variable length sleeve as I'm sick of all my casual shirts being too short in the arms. Between browsing and adding to my cart and coming back after dinner the sale was gone and they were 4 for $199 :( so I bailed.

Clicking today they are back available at 3 for $99 - or up to 5 for the same price. So I now have 5 business casual shirts coming my way with a proper length sleeve. These will hopefully fit the bill for those more formal casual events - if you know what I mean?
