Thanks for the links and details @alfredus [emoji4]

Brush:
Semogue 620
Lather: CRSW Jardin d'orange
Razor: Stills custom grind Henkotsu
Aftershave: alum, Thayers, argan oil

Don't think many beyond a handful like @Mark are much interested in the sordid details about honing this razor (if you are see here). But bottom line is that it was a dynastic pain in the arse (and spelled out in greater detail on the "Honing at it's Finest" group). But then earned the title "Stills custom grind Henkotsu"

But the proof is in the pudding and the razor gave a fantastic shave. My best kamisori shave yet. A learning shave too; as every stroke proved that "less is more", more pressure did less and less well angled approaches left a smooth hairless wake. Fantastic!!! Bottom line is that I'm off on holidays for a few days up north and thinking seriously of taking just this razor, so I can get to know it and the kamisori experience a little better.

First time with this CRSW scent (big thanks go out to my brother from another mother @filobiblic for making this happen). The predominant orange is subtle - which is weird for a yank soap - but it's there and very refined. I like how it evolves when wet and lathered. Performance is without fault - slickness, protection, post-shave feel - tick tick, tick.

A great shave my friends (and you other guys on here). Actually after over four hours contending with the hone, it was the most thoroughly satisfying shave of my career yet.

PreShave: Top Seven Preshave
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89 with Windrose Handle
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Soap: TOBS and Mikes Coconut
Post Shave: Clubman Pinaud
Still had a bit of the Mikes soap in the bowl so bloomed it and whipped up what was left and then added a small amount of TOBS and four drops of glycerin(thanks @Draco Noir ). The result was a luxurious, cushiony and very slick lather. The TOBS scent overwhelmed the Mikes. Three pass shave that produced one of the most comfortable and enjoyable shaves I have had. BBS with no nicks or cuts or irritation. Have a great Sunday.

Razor: Schick Krona
Blade: Unknown Vintage NOS Israeli blade
Cream: Arko Extreme Performance
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Original Sport

Excellent Double-With-The-Grain, I wish I had more of those unknown blades. Someone please send a telegram to EVYAP, tell them to stop using 'Scrubbing Bubble Toilet Cleaning Gel' in the Extreme Performance's recipe : / The lather is very good but the scent...

SOTD Sunday, November 1

Cold water shave
Preshave: Bloom water
Soap: Soap Commander, Purpose (Bay Rum)
Brush: Edwin Jagger badger
Face lather
Razor: George Butler, Keen 6/8

I find the lather from this soap is plentiful but just lacks that glide/slickness to make it into my top 5 soap manufacturers. I did a couple of bowl lathers a few months ago and the resultant lather was much better but face lathering is my thing, so this soap is not for me.

The George Butler straight is definitely a shaving weapon. Great audio feedback, extremely efficient and an outstanding example of English craftsmanship.

Yeah ditch that yank-crap soap mate and get yourself some European or British goodness....some MWF would match that blade very well indeed.
..though other yank offerings like CRSW, Reef Point, etc. are OK too I suppose...

Great to know the Keen has found an ideal new home where it'll be loved!

I always transfer enough soap to my daily shave bowl for 3-5 days of shaves. Tomorrow I will be back to a Shaver Heaven offering. I've never used "The Fat" before and will one day purchase some just to satisfy my curiosity. I'm honestly not too fussy on soap offerings. As long as it works and the scent is good, I'm happy. More so with brushes (sorry @alfredus); if they work, job done. Good straights though ... ... ...

Call me a heathen for not squeezing every last joy out of each aspect of wet shaving but hey; I'm into the manly, efficient workshop tool thing of straights. If I had to make lather with a toothbrush and toothpaste I'd be happy as long as I could use a straight.

“ Candles and roses…”

Because everything is better with candles and roses…

Razor | Klas Törnblom Frameback| Soap | Col. Conk Bay Rum | After Shave | Myrosol Aqua de Limón | Sounds | Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman

Well. I must say. By candlelight; no other light though some entered through the purple velvet curtains blown by a summer warm breeze and while the razor slid over skin Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman spoke to my soul.

Oh that's it...GAME IS ON!!!
a.k.a great photo mate! ;)

WOW, @carlmaloschneider, just wow.

You know guys I slept in this morning.

The Dorco Pace 7 was just sitting there.

I whipped it around my face in next to no time (with a result to match).

Now I feel somehow 'dirty' or a failure, somehow not in the same league and almost too embarrassed to mention my shave OR post any daggy pictures.

The standard of the SOTD has been increasing significantly over the last few months, from many of the members here. Now I have to admit it - I'm not worth.

We are in the presence of greatness here with you guys now.

Straight: Gold Dollar #66
Brush: Omega S10108
Soap: Gent's V3 Original
Aftershave: Myrsol Antesol

The jojoba works very well. Post-shave, lanolin wins. During the shave, jojoba wins. What's more, the jojoba is odourless and easier to work with while making the soap.
Must it be either/or
