Was trying to find the perfect solution for me for a brush stand. Wanted one that would hold a brush upside down. Didn’t want a free standing thing on the sink (small apartment bathroom, space is a premium), and didn’t want it in the cupboard behind the mirror (no air ventilation).

This is what I came up with. Pretty happy with the result. Cost me about $4 at Bunnings. After measuring a bunch of my brushes, I decided that 32mm was probably the best gap on average. Hooks are about 5mm in diameter, so I drilled the pilot holes 37mm apart. Seems to work pretty well so far.

Synthetics dry in just a couple of hours. I also find with my one boar, all I have to do is stand it the "right" way up on my front verandah and it dries in no time. Plus the intense Tasmanian UV works a treat for killing off any bugs that might introduce any funky aromas...
