How are you lot all holding up though all the craziness?
It could be the beers talking or the fact that I miss the crap out of my lodge brethren but I’m in the habit of checking in on folk so guys how are you doing?

Beers talking already? Should we be worried about you mate?

Mind you, almost time for ...

... here.

Quite hunky and even a little dory thanks for asking.

As it should be in the GREATER Western Sydney ...

More seriously, talking to our school leaders in Melbourne they are all well and truly over this. So much back and forth in school land and trying to keep Year 12 students, particularly, focussed and not losing it ...

Thanks for asking mate, always good to check in on people
Not too much craziness here in the NT but we do feel for folk caught in the middle of all the craziness.

I’m just trying to support local breweries, Gotta help the economy- the government entrusted me personally to do it you know.
I don’t envy your position mark nor those of the teachers.. I have used zoom once and gave it 0/10.
It’s a bit crazy here, we are turning away work from many of the hot spots.. apparently they didn’t get the memo that servicing their car kinda doesn’t matter right this second.

Well sometime overnight our fridge died. Meat defrosting at a time it's scare in the shops. Fridge full of food.

We have a small upright freezer so decided to open a bottle of wine with brunch, music on and do a massive cook up to freeze and squeeze in the remaining freezer. Then get an esky going for milk etc.

Then online shop for a fridge as every whitegoods shop is closed. So hard to judge a fridge by phone pics. Now who knows when it will get here. There goes my auction money.

Shite timing. Homeschooling and work on backburner.

Fair to say I'm a bit over it.

AGGGHHHH, well THAT was crap timing!

For what it is worth, all the educators I talk to are really NOT expecting parents to "homeschool" - you certainly should not feel any pressure to "perform" as a teacher!

Yeah the work given shows they aren't expecting much and grade 2 not life shaping. I've got my background in early childhood/kinder teaching and primary so hard to snap out of that. Making it as fun as we can. We have been filming with ABC tv about covid remote learning for an upcoming series as well.

Kido makes it easy but dare i say it's got a groundhog day feel. Lol

Full marks for reaching out! The last six months (count em!) have been an interesting ride, haven't they.

I work in hospital admin / management , and watching how the team has pivoted towards dealing with this has been inspiring.

That said, anyone who hasn't been left feeling a bit frayed by this is either lying or needs their meds checked!!

Stay well everyone, and reach out if you need to.

Keep us up posted @Chad. Like to hear how you bounce back from this one (y)

I'm ashamed to say, many of us here in TAS seem to be feeling a bit smug about the situation. Nothing to do with that boisterous stretch of water separating us from that big island in the North, of course.

A bit sobering to note the impact on the suicide rate in VIC during the last lockdown...

We have been Very lucky in Canberra too, However if we could keep fools from holidaying in hotspots that would be great... I personally have had to ridicule people’s holiday plans ad nauseam on 3 seperate occasions and the less said about my one Hyundai Getz car chases I initiate when I see those VIC plates the better.

@SpeedyPC if you lot would just attend to it in NSW that would be tops and we can all get back to lodge! In all seriousness however I hope you are staying in contact with your brethren especially the grumpy PMs, I’m serving in the senior deacon role this year and while I have had the chance to do the work the prospect of taking a wardens chair when we return is mortifying-

How good is it, the pubs are open, there are people on the streets albeit a few less. No tourists, Tassie is back to the paradise it used to be.

Even our outbreak in the NW wasn't that bad, although I gained a few grey hairs trying to manage the deep clean of those hospitals. Being in Burnie was a bit weird, probably like Melbourne now, the streets were empty and very few businesses open. People stayed home.
