So I am planning on building a "life times supply" of vintage straights (preferably NOS) over the course of this year. Yes, and then I shall stop! Probably...
So if I plan on living another 60 years, how many razors do I need? I'm thinking 6 would be comfortable since I will likely buy other razors too - a modern custom is on the books for example, but that is just a guess really. How many times on the hones does it take for a razor to show "excessive hone wear" and be a candidate for retirement? If I hone a daily shaver, every three months..., four touch up hones a year, how many years do I get? Is this question even answerable due to a wide range of variables??
Love to hear your thoughts. Anyone had and used a razor for 10years or longer????
