G'day folks,
i been going along for a while now fairly happy with my proraso red i got when i first started on my voyage of straight razordom but i was thinking of expanding out to grab a few more soaps.
Now i'm not a big fan of purfumey style scents nor of your flowery type ones especially lavender(wife would kick me out to the dog house if i smelt of lavender.
After looking around on here i noticed that many folks give grave reviews to shaver heaven soaps and i'd always prefer to buy australian were available so i was going to get a couple off him but i wanted to ask if anyone has used the ones i'm looking at and if they think they would make good buys.
few i have on my shortlist are .....
http://shaverheaven.com.au/the-lodge/
http://shaverheaven.com.au/sensuous-sandalwood-snd/
http://shaverheaven.com.au/spiced-mahogany/
http://shaverheaven.com.au/maple-sugar/

if anyone could give me some impressions if they have used them before i would extremely greatfull.

Performance of Shaver Heaven soaps is superb. You can't go wrong with them. It'll come down to what kind of scent you prefer.

I've got Spiced Mahogany (currently on loan to a friend) and it's a lovely woody-all spice scent. It's a popular scent. I haven't smelt "The Lodge" to compare the two. But scent is a personal preference anyway.

@SydBJW would have a few of the above soaps and could give you his opinion on them.

I just grabbed the Mo'vember and the 1st Anniversary from @Anthony.

Thing is with Lavender in Shaving Soaps is that it a backbone of many scents, yet you will not likely 'stink of lavender'. You'd be surprised just how many scents it is actual part of and most of them you'd never think it was there. Only some of our more experienced noses will smell it as with a number of other accords (aka scents that go together) it virtually morphs into something else.

Also a big thumbs up from me on the Reef Point Soaps Dragons Blood which is rather Gourmand in scent. @SydBJW game me a sample a while back and I cannot fault the lather at all.

I do have an unused tub of B&M 'Latha' which I would be willing to part with. Lavender is in the formulation, but it's just a slightly powdery barbershop-style scent.

I'm in almost exactly the same boat here. I've only got proraso red so far and my wife isn't too keen on lavender. I'm not ready to try anything else just yet but I'd be interested to see what other people say too

As @Monsta_AU says their is often a flowery (lavender) base in a lot of soaps, he has a lot better sense of smell than I do.

@PapaDooks Out of the ones you mention I have Shaver Heaven Spiced Mahogany, be more than happy to post you a sample of that and a few others. PM you address and I will put something in the post for you.
