/Edit I should say that the discounts on the other brushes bring them much closer to the FS brush I ended up buying, and I may well have purchased one of those instead of the FS had these prices been available

Well if you add say 10 pucks of decent soap to make it a $400 proposition and set that against 40 cans of canned shaving goo, you'll break even in 15yrs time and save money thereafter. It's a complete no-brainer.

Simpsons are very nice looking brushes, but if I was to buy another brush this would be the one. Everything about the way it looks is just perfect. Proportions, colour, size etc. I've never tried an Omega badger but they're just very good brush makers and I can't see why that should only be valid for their range of boar brushes.
