Staley live blade razor

I was trawling eBay looking for blades and stumbled onto this fat arsed thing, Stahly Live Blade Razor Shaver in A Box | eBay being something of a shaving ludite I thought I would ask my knowedgable bretheren what is it.

Same here. They look way too chunky for me. I can imagine they'd give a good shave. There are a few devotees and I always thought they looked reasonably priced for what they are. I'm assuming they take standard blades.

The Stahly head will fit on to a Gillette handle. I've tried it both ways and there's not much of a difference in the shave.
The original handle is a mechanical wind up and you need to be careful that its working properly. It's worth a try if the price is right.

I keep reading that the vibration takes away your sense of feedback. Sounds a little dangerous. Cool gear for a reasonable price though.

What's it like?? Not like an electric shaver . It's more like the feeling from one of those small finger vibrators that they're selling now. You get the feeling that they also sold another 'head' for it!!
You have to try it. Don't spend too much, it's not an experience that you couldn't live without .
