Friday we had the HR lady come through and issue notices that they where closing our branch effective end feb.
Of the 30 odd folk there 3 being retained of which I am one while it’s great to have a job I feel so gutted for the others.

What industry do you work in? It must be one to avoid.

We used to call my BIL "the closer" he worked at three or four places that shut down. Burnie and Wesley vale pulp and paper mills, and fibre board manufacturers in Tas and Brisbane.

Automotive parts-
Unfortunately the Canberra suppliers are being killed by larger Sydney and Melbourne dealerships as well as the demands of the insurance companies.
