The head is CNC machined stainless steel and reminds me of the RazoRock Lupo. It’s not an exact duplicate and while you can see the similarities, the Yaqi head is quite a bit thicker, slightly longer and heavier. It’s not that the Yaqi head is huge (it’s comparable to the ATT SB Pro) but that the Lupo head is so svelte and nimble. Also, the Lupo head (non DLC) is polished whereas the Yaqi head has a satin finish.
For the shave I used Cade shave cream, Personna lab blue blade and a Frank badger brush. All in all, it ended up being a 2 pass BBS shave. Now, if you are the type of shaver that enjoys blade feel then this razor has it in spades. It has more blade feel than the Gamechanger .84, Lupo DLC and Lupo .72. This is an efficient razor and with all that blade feel not overly smooth (smoothish, I’d say) and, for me at least, not an everyday razor. On their website they state that this razor has a mildness ranking of 6 to 7 out of 10, but to me it’s more like an 8 at least.
