Been way too long since I’ve used some APR soap and with the temperature on the rise again today, this seemed fitting.

Now all I need is to try and get to the beach, but can’t see it happening today!

Pre: Hot Shower
Cream: Gillette Pure
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 3
Razor: Eclipse Red Ring (Dialled open as far as I dare!)
Blade: Feather (2)
Post: Nivea 2 Phase ASL
Stuck with the vintage theme this evening after such a great shave with the Slim yesterday. The Eclipse was marketed as an adjustable razor in the 1930's and was manufactured in Sheffield England some 20 years or so before Gillette came to that particular (adjustable) party. Its true adjustability has been discussed at length on many a platform over the years. I can attest that with this particular example that if it is dialled back from the fully closed position the shave is more aggressive but it is a fine line between the assembly remaining true and tight to loose and dangerous! Still gives a good shave and its history is worth a read. Nivea Post Shave products seem to go well with this cream IMO.
Have a Great Night!

That Eclipse looks to be in remarkable condition.

Brush: RR boar
Head: Omnishaver
Face: Yaqi DOC + RR bamboo handle
Blade: Rockwell (4)
Pre: Shower + Nivea Face Wash
Soap: Declaration Grooming Trismegistus
Post: Thayers Aloe & Lemon Witch Hazel // APR Bombora LE splash // Vaseline Replenishing Mouisteriser

A two part SOTD - starting off with a head shave. The boar managed to create plentiful lather after struggling to work itself in. I prefer using the Headblade as it offers smoother shaves and seems to be more efficient but then again the Omnishave blades are supposed to last longer and its a pinch to use. Finished off with some Witch Hazel :)

Afternoon face shave was somewhat rough and its safe to say there's a reason why the Rockwell blade is not on many peoples favourite list. The DOC shaves efficiently requiring a smooth blade and sadly the Rockwell didn't deliver. Not the worst shave by any strech of the imagination but far from the smmoth shaves I've come a custom to. Thank goodness for my choice of soap as the name alludes to it really is''thrice great'' with excellent performance, post shave feel and a pleasant earthy/masculine scent  Finished off with some refreshing Bombora LE splash... Happy shaves!

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Saponificio Varesino Two-band High Mountain Manchurian White Badger
Soap: Murphy & McNeil Cliffs Of Moher
Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: NOS Personna P74 (1)
Post: Chatillon Lux Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli Toner, Musgo Real Aftershave Balm
Scent: Boellis Panama 1924 EdT

Very enjoyable shave. This was my first use of Murphy & McNeil's Aon base soap, which contains both beef and duck tallow, plus a few other mods from the tallow base. The soap is noticeably harder than the tallow base; I'd call this a hard croap, whilst the tallow base is a soft croap. Easy to lather and very slick; performnce was again top shelf. The scent is very fresh, and fits the cliffs theme nicely.
I was a DFS after two passes, with the venerable P74 blade scything down the stubble effortlessly. A light three pass accomplished BBS. A lovely post shave feel with this soap.
Finished with one of my favourite scents - Boellis Panama 1924. Citrus, tobacco and vanilla skillfully woven together - wonderful juice.

I saw this documentary film this evening; if you are a sports fan, I cannot recommend it highly enough. I almost did not go, as I am far from a fan of the subject of the film. However, after reading the reviews, I could not resist. Engrossing viewing, and told absolutely warts and all.

I was very fortunate to be offered to buy some virtual unobtanium soap direct from Anthony last week. I’m sure many of you already know it may well have opinions, yet this was my first ever chance to grab some.

I can safely say that today’s shave was my best for the week. Face has cleared up nicely and grabbed the Karve SS with a C plate. My stainless D and OC/C arrived early this week but I held off since my face was almost a wreck. Next week they’ll be needed!

Back to the Shaver Heaven, and it’s angelic halo, this vegan lather loaded with ease and the scent was great. No reaction from my face and after 2 passes, barely a whisker remained.

P.S. I’ve also got a tallow formula Sweet Almond Milk and that smell is TRUMAZING...

Away in MEL for work so usual travel kit shave. The hotel room though -
