Accountants have a concept called 'materiality'. The Accounting Standard AASB 1031 which deals with materiality indicates, inter alia, that -
'In addition to guiding the application of the recognition, measurement and disclosure requirements, the notion of materiality guides the margin of error that is acceptable in the amount attributed to an item or an aggregate of items and the degree of precision required in estimating the amount of an item or an aggregate of items.'
On the basis of previous year purchases I think I would actually have an arguable case that this year's acquisitions are immaterial and really it could be said that I have not purchased anything and thus have maintained by sabbatical.
Oh, I did mention I live in Canberra didn't I?

That explains a great many things about you! I too "lived" in Canberra for a while! In Winter! Straight after a couple of years in tropical Asia! Hell is not under the ground somewhere... it's located in the ACT! And centred in Ainslie!

Wow. Lovely photo. And after only one use? Funny how the knot doesn't look real big in that photo does it! Only when you know the true size of the handle does the scale of the knot become apparent. Thanks for posting.

I do like my Postie - he brought me this today :
- Suminigashi straight razor 13/16.
- Curved blade, full hollow grind.
- White G10 scales with a turquoise wedge (not in photo)
- Very sensible user adjustable Torx screw instead of a traditional pin attaching the blade to the scales.

Within minutes of making my previous post here, there was a ring on the doorbell and it was my local Aus Post courier (I like him too ) with a package from France. This is what he brought :
It's called a Raptor 54mm and was made by Ali's Blade (Cedric Christ) in France. The short blade should make it a real little hotrod. My shaves are decided for the next few days
