Same knot in each. 24mm synthetic Ubersoft 2 set at 51-52mm loft. As he won't ship animal hair knots I had to decide between TGN, Ubersoft 1 or 2. Took a punt. Wasn't sure how else to vary them at this stage.

I have a wolf whiskers Ubersoft 2 knot, you will not be disappointed, a very well known person in shaving circles told me he thinks the synthetic wolf whiskers brushes are better in most cases than the natural hair ones. I don't know about that all I can say is that I really enjoy my one :)

Water retention? Heat retention?

I don't really know why as I have never had a natural hair one but the person was indicating that the synthetic knots used in his brushes are up their with the best of those knots available and that the natural hair whilst good their is better natural hair out their from other manufactures (although I think to be fair you can get any knot sent to Wolf Whiskers and they will put that in your brush). Something along those lines.

All I know is that he makes great brushes :)

Ah, now I understand : its the best knot available from WW, not in general ...

Nice package today from Wolf Whiskers. As everyone says - the photos don't do the brushes justice. They are very very nice. Can't wait to shave!

Great looking brush and razor :)

Noice! Which 49125?
...and so you actually going to apply that straight to your face mate?
2nd largest, 49215/4
It's a beast and can't wait to use it :D
It's the brush I'll use once it's time to shave again.
Weber for the razor, not sure upon blade or soap as yet.
Almost tempted to unseal JGS TMBR, almost...

Great looking brush and razor :)
Great feel to them as well :D

A Varlet Mega arrived in the mail this morning. I traded one of my M&F's for it and without using the Mega yet I can say that I'm very happy with the trade.
Piccie please!

What a beauty - congratulations and please don't hold back on your thoughts how it actually feels...

THIS!

The Varlet Mega - excuse my crappy photography, I tried to capture the subtle pinkish hue of the handle but I don't think my iphone does it justice.

For comparison here is the Mega next to a Chubby 2

I'm yet to face lather with the brush but I can say that the handle is very well made and comfortable to hold. It is clean white but it seems to give off a very subtle pinkish hue which, from what I've read is very similar to the older somerset Simpson brushes.

The hair in this brush feels very fine and soft at the tips with no hooking at all. Although not as dense as the Chubby 2 next to it, I can feel good backbone and no discernible glue bump which is a plus for me.

Been away from my PO Box for a few weeks. Was the only thing good about going back to work today...

Parcel #1 - big thanks to an old mate of mine for enabling this purchase...let's get a little more professional!

Parcel #2 - big thanks to @SydBJW a.k.a. "The Sudsman". He knows how much I enjoy my Wickhams - one of my Top Five soaps! - what a top bloke. Also some very interesting smelling samples. ...though this is the evil side of Our Sudsman!

Parcel #3: won a low-ball on this earlier this week. Quite surprised with the condition, especially for what I paid. Wash is all intact and no major pitting. Really looking forward to see how she takes to the stones on the weekend.

Parcel #4 - the last one...in two parts.
Really didn't expect this to arrive - was having major dramas with DHL - where their 'tracking' still shows this parcel's not been dropped off by the seller. So a huge surprise....and hats off to Maksim at JNS. Top seller with top stuff. My final nagura stone that Maksim matched to my 1960's barber shop Honyama Asagi Tomae (lvl. 5).....might prove big enough to come travelling with me. Happy days!

....and I finally graduated from my starter strop - the home-made roo.
I've read about the quality of the kanayama but bugger me!....this thing is divine!
