Blade longevity experiment.

Main thing is to watch the angle. Keep the handle more perpendicular to planet face. If you drag the blade on your skin you will blunten it faster.

If you got the 5th out of the Astra, then I think 8-10 should be possible here if you are 100% on angle and your prep is perfect. Just remember, no pressure on Shave one or you will be the bleeding sailor....

Never used one of these blades, will be interested to see the results, as for the Astra, I don't like the Astra SP in the slightest, I find the Astra SS to be a vastly superior blade but i tend to be an oddity in that regard.

I'm 2 shaves into a nacet and I have to say they are my favourite but I've never taken one to its limit, I'll let you know how I go with it

Ok day 1 with the Australian made Gillette super stainless AKA the Aussie Spoiler.

Now I've never used one of these blades before so I had no idea what to expect and I was very very impressed!

Overall I give these blades a 9/10

Smoothness 8/10
Sharpness 10/10

Definitely not as smooth as say a feather stainless or a vintage polsilver brown but a awesome blade and I've now spent all day buying and searching for more haha.

Definitely not a blade for the beginner due to sharpness and of course the rareity of the blade which makes them a bit more $$ pershave but I'm loving this blade so far. definetly going to have to get a carton somehow for my apocalypse bunker.

Required no effort to cut, zero pressure needed.

out of curiosity, have you tried Nacet, GSB or rubies?

So yesterday was shave two with the Aussie Spoiler and it's performance hadn't died off In the slightest was an excellent shave....
But this morning.....shave three for those playing along at home. Was absolutely terrible Instant pulling of my whiskers blade was rough as guts! I have no idea what's happened but today was the worst shave I'd ever had!

I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and starting again tomorrow with a fresh Spoiler hoping it's just a dud blade but I can honestly say I've never had a razor so that to be ever before.

Thought guys??

Given that you're only recently married and probably not as experienced as me in the wily ways of wives... is it possible that your wife has been shaving her legs with that blade overnight? If so, you need to PIF her an el cheapo razor and a hundred Dorcos! I mean, what else would you do with a hundred Dorcos?

score bread.

It may be that prep was off, skin wasn't as hydrated as usual or something to that effect.. are the Aussie spoilers stainless? Carbon blades can drop off quick like that

She has her own razor and set up she would never grab my slim adjustable for her legs. If she ever does borrow one it's always my techs

You can strop carbon blades, the the keen sharpener is a cool relic from the time where people would strip their carbon DE blades.
