Note: There are still shave-ready new razors available in PIF No. 11.

It has been almost 2 monbths since our last SR PIF. This razor comes to us through the kind benevolence of @LesC. The razor is a near new Yusuke R2 ⅝ asymmetrically ground right-handed Japanese kamisori with an American point. These kamisori do not come cheap. They often sell for over a hundred dollars or a lot more.

This PIF is open to any member who his never tried kamisori shaving before. Here is what the skilful winner of this PIF will receive.

(Note: The blade reads "TUKSUKE R2" according to my little brother)

Condition:

This straight razor is shave-ready (to my standard) and in near new condition. The razor is supplied as-received from @LesC and i have refreshed the edge on diamond pasted balsa. Since receiving this razor, I have used it only six times on my silken whisker to gain experience in kamisori shaving. I am now hooked on kamisori shaving. The edge has then been refreshed on diamond pasted balsa down to 0.1μm and stropped on clean Kyrgyzstan calf leather. It is supplied stropped and ready to use. The lucky winner will not be disappointed.

Note: This razor is not suitable for a beginner in straight razor shaving, unless you have high blood pressure and need to let some out to reduce that pressure. You should have some SR shaving experience before shaving with this weapon. Over time, a kamisori can be a pleasure to shave with.

Rules:

1. This PIF is open to all P&C members worldwide who have never previously shaved with an asymmetrically ground kamisori.
2. You must have been a member of P&C on 25 May 2024.
3. The winner is to pay postage within 72 hours of winning (see postal rates below). You can pay with PayPal, bank transfer or BTC/Lightning.
4. The PIF remains open until won.

How to enter:

This PIF requires some lucky guesses. I have thought of a number between 1 and 20 inclusive. You need to guess that number (a whole number and it is not 8, 14 or 20 that won previous PIFs). You are allowed multiple guesses however each of your guesses must be at least 24 hours apart. To win this PIF, just post "I'm in" with your guess of the number. [e.g., I'm in 14]. First to guess the correct number will win.
If you find that this SR is not for you, all I ask is that you return the razor to me. I will then refresh the blade's edge and PIF it to another member.

Another great PIF especially after reading your story with a kamisori.
I would be happy to try my luck with numbers but I do not feel ready for kamisori. Still have a lot to improve with a straight😂
Good luck guys👍🏻

If you have over a hundred daily SR shaves under your belt, you should be proficient enough to try and asymmetrical ground kamisori. It will take you a few months of daily kamisori shaving to become reasonably proficient at it but it teach you lot about the gentlemanly art.

Of course, it is your call but I suggest that you give it a go.
