Soap: IL FENOMENO DELLARTE
Brush: Matilda
Razor: Muhle R41 Twist
Blade: Dorco ST-301 (4)

I received this soap in the mail yesterday. It's taken some weeks to turn up but it was worth the wait. I had read @Bladerunner7 's review of the soap and my curiosity was piqued by his 'beast to a gentleman' statement in reference to the taming of the Muhle R41. I had never met a soap that could achieve that claim, plenty that could turn the shave performance the other way........... so I had to order some to test this claim. I don't think I would have bothered if the soap did not also list some very nice ingredients and the fragrance is predominantly essential oil. I don't know if it's a translation thing on the label or if Fenomeno deliberately used fragrance oil on top of essential oils. If that's the case I don't why they'd bother as the essential oils listed are more than capable of carrying the show on their own ( a perfumer may dissagree - I just love essential oils and dislike fragrance oils). Anyway....

I found the scent quite pleasant and the high expectations @Bladerunner7 had created concerning the lather quality were met.

I always take soap from the puck and lather in a bowl. In pasting the soap into the bottom of the bowl it's consistency reminded me of Phoenix & Beau soap. It lathered beautifully.

I deliberately selected the Dorco ST-301 as it is a milder blade. I didn't expect the soap to do all the heavy lifting.

Great shave. I did end up with some mild weepers. Did the soap turn the beast into a gentleman? I don't think I'd go that far but it certainly optimised the chances of achieving a good shave. The soap performs very well and I found it very enjoyable to use. Will I bother going back for more when this soap runs out? Maybe not, but it certainly won't sit neglected on my shelf. I expect I will enjoy using this soap as long as it lasts. I'm looking forward to giving it a run with a straight razor.

Thank you @Bladerunner7 for reviewing this soap, I doubt I would have come across it otherwise.

That's so kind of you mate. Really thrilled that you took the plunge with this one. I do love it's performance every time I use it. Would love to know how it works when using a straight.
