At the insistence of @astinus4 had to break out the Palmolive Stick. Very nice slick lather, quick to dry out though and a very nice post shave feel.
Been a while since I came close to single pass BBS. In this instance it's a FDS Fine Damn Shave. @astinus4 will get the pun.

Paging @Holiday :

So, a shave off between a couple of my level 2 Charcoal Goods razors. I will not compare the handles, seeming as they are different lengths (I like them both equally). I guess this is also not a completley valid comparison, as I'm comparing an OC plate with a CC plate. However, the levels are the same.

End result, the OC gave the closer shave, but only just. It managed to clean up the areas below my chin, that are often my troublesome spots, after two passes (WTG & XTG), more so than the CC. Going WTG on the first pass, there was very little to differentiate between the two. The CC did however, provide more audible feedback, it also seemed to have more blade feel, which would link to the audible feedback I guess. It was going XTG, that I noticed a bit more difference. The OC felt smoother, which surprised me seeming as open comb plates are supposed to be 'more aggressive'. As mentioned though, it did a slighlty better job on my lower jawline.

Of course, this is just a one time test, and true appraisals need much longer testing periods. I can say though, both of these razors offer excellent shaves (for me that is). The Level 2, is my absolute sweet spot and it is what I compare all my other razors to.

Razor: Weber PH
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Tony Forsyth Matilda Prototype Rhodium knots 2-band Silvertip
Lather: Mike's Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper
Post: EVOO

I almost forgot, what a great razor the Weber is - IF used with a very shallow angle...it took me half a pass and a small nick to remember that. After that the shave was very smooth and efficient.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday (y)

Yet another wonderful SOTD image @alfredus and I'm loving the shape of that handle. Simple yet beautiful with the Malachite green a real winner (y)

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Phoenix & Beau Star Noir
Razor: Merkur Futur Gold (2)
Blade: Super Iridium BN-84 (3)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Proraso Green Aftershave Splash
Scent: Penhaligon's Benheim Bouquet

My first use of Phoenix & Beau Star Noir. The lather was, as usual from this artisan, excellent.
The scent is quite exotic, and very enjoyable. It remained with me for an hour or two post shave, and blended well with the citrus notes of Blenheim Bouquet.
Three very comfortable and irritation-free passes for a BBS result.
