Hmmm, I've been looking for something like that. Maybe I will give MdC a try after all. The Rose Concerto is not what I would really call a pure rose...
If you like Rose I would highly recommend it. Rose Concerto is not way pure, more synthetic but after initial hesitation I found that I do really like the splash.. The soap, as far as I know, only used scents from essential oils which is why they smell so pure.. I also have Argumes and that is again a very nice pure smelling citrus scent.
This soap is also fully vegan, meaning no animal fats at all. I usually chase tallow soaps but the slickness on this is as good as any tallow soap I have tried.
For me, there is also gives it an advantage over tallow. In summer I find if I used splashes with lots of 'skin food' along with tallow soaps I can get a bit oily by days end (nothing major). But have found this soap doesn't cause that at all, especially when I used a more alcohol based splash like the RazorRock Range.
Cost is a big thing on this soap. Forget about ordering direct from the source, I worked it out and comes to around $130 (less VAT, but add shipping and Eur to AUD). Vshod stock these, but currently out of stock.. I believe he is getting stock in around 2-4 weeks and he sells them for $100 with free shipping. Even this sounds like a lot but, the cost per shave is much cheaper than the soft artisan soaps.
Believe me when I say you only need a 10 second load to get enough lather (with change) for a full three pass shave, and this is what brings the cost per shave right down. The other thing is if you load for say 30 seconds you will not get a good lather as the amount of water required to get the slickness is way to much and the lather you will need to produce will cover you for around 4 three pass shaves.
mate if you love Rose, get it............ probably best to email vshod and ask for one to be held for you when they come in
