Another year, means a new SOTD thread!

There is no set format, although, in case this helps, personally I include:

Razor: (setting in parenthesis if adjustable)

Fragrance: (EDT, EDC or EDP) if applicable

Photos, of any quality, are encouraged but not essential. We don't host images directly on the forum. You will need to host on sites like Flickr or Imgur and use them to generate a BBCode link, see instructions for Flickr and Imgur respectively. Alternatively you can use services like TinyPic, use 'IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards' or Postimage, use 'Hotlink for forums' to generate links.

In all cases it is helpful to resize images with the last two sites recommending 640 x 480 for forums - max 800 x 600 to help our mobile users

I haven't used the Asylum Rx since April last year and was inspired by @Errol 's review of the Asylum Mc Murphy to go hunting on the mezzanine for it. A very efficient shave albeit with a couple of minor weepers and lop off the top of what was a inconsequential nick from yesterday. But what's an Asylum shave without blood........

Well I ain't got nothing to complain of another really really good shave from this Dr John's HEX Soap. Lathered unbeleivbley quick dense, slick and protective of each pass I made loved it.

A super refreshing shave using some neglected kit. The soap was one of the first purchases I made and sadly no longer available but eye watering levels of menthol which goes well on warm days like today.
The brush was kindly sent to me from the States and hand turned by the wet shaving legend known as Graydog. The Maggard SHD knot just makes the brush a pleasure to use.
The DOC head was purchased as a cheaper alternative to what was on offer initially from Italian Barber/RazoRock so pot metal and subsequent versions are better QC but for the price it gives a good shave for those occasions when I have a few days growth...

It has been another week since my last shave, but oh well, new year, new me right?

Started the shave with a 3-shave old blade, and while it did a good job, it just wasn’t up to my standards. Luckily for me I remembered to grab a new blade before shaving. After the first pass up top, I swapped over to the new blade and did not regret it one bit.

Finished up the dome with the new blade, and continued onto the face.

Two passes on the face, it was two week old hair, so not the greatest to shave, but nonetheless, still a decent shave. Happyt to have gone through with a shave today.

Still haven’t been on the bike this year yet, but that can be tomorrow’s morning routine sorted.

Nice to see someone else here with O&C. How do you like it? Your puck looks much paler than mine, is it the original (Valobra) formulation?
