Pre: Hot water
Razor: Mühle Birch-Bark Rocca
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Yellow (1)
Brush: Forgotten Art "Southern Skies" 30mm Snow Leopard
Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Post: Shower, Stirling Bergamot Lavender EDT

First time out with the Rocca:
I was prepared, having seen so many pictures here, to find the Rocca a bit overlarge. In actuality, though, it's moderately sized (not vastly different from the R41), and is a comfortable fit in my hand. My first reaction to the texture of the birch-bark was that it felt a lot like cork, until it occurred to me that there's probably not that much difference between oak and birch bark. Whatever, it's a lovely warm feel, and there's plenty of grip. And it looks so pretty...

The blade mounts are a little unconventional, using the slotted part of the blade, which appears to have a bit of slack built in, which I imagine disappears as the blade is bent into a tight arc, supported only by the cap near the edges, with a large cavity below the blade. There is just a little tab exposure, which suits me fine: makes it easy to fit/remove blades, and I have never yet hurt myself with blade tabs.

The shave, with favorite blade and soap, was sublime. I usually have to spend a bit of time over the trouble spots, but I didn't have to do much buffing today. My only niggle (and it is just a niggle) is that that big cavity below the blade wasn't really sufficient to make for easy rinsing of the soap and gunk that accumulates over a face/head shave. I actually had to take it apart to clear it. Overall, though, I'm pleased. A perfect shave, leaving me much lovelier than any baby's bum.

Great to see you enjoying the R95. I agree it would be nicer if it didn't collect soap gunk but well worth it as the shaves are so good!

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Stirling Deep Blue Sea
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Platinum Royal (11)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Cella Aftershave Splash
Scent: TOBS Eton College

What a beautifully scented soap - a delightful fresh blend of citrus and gentle woods, with a bit of spice. It is a dupe of Bleu de Chanel, which makes me want to buy the original.
The vintage Gillette Platinum Royal blade is still sharp and smooth, but I'll likely soon replace it for the sake of change/variety.
A refreshing 3 pass shave with a BBS result.

Hey, @alfredus I'm completely lost, how do you subscribe the scent of Brown Windsor straight from the puck? This is the weirdest scent I've ever smelled, I've read the website about the scent profile of Brown Windsor, because, I cannot fully picture the scent profile at all from my nose. All I can say straight from the puck of Brown Windsor is the weirdest scent I've ever smelled, to be very honest and it's sounds crazy..... I like it, but, it's the weirdest scent I've ever smelled.

Brown Windsor

A classic soap fragrance in the 19th century, it was carried by Lewis and Clarke on their western expedition and is said to have been the favorite soap of Napoleon. Brown Windsor is scented with an intriguing blend of essential oils: herbaceous and floral lavender, sweet and spicy caraway seed oil, the fruity citrus of Bergamot and petigrain, with warm notes of cinnamon leaf, cardamom and clove.

It remind me of a dish my father used to cook for me back in the day - I always get hungry when I smell it :D

I think it is the cumin in there...anyway do you have a spare puck for me???

Speedmaster - your reaction reminds me of my own experience with Stirling Barbershop. It is a million miles from all other barbershop scents, but upon repeated use, it becomes somewhat endearing, if still a little sweet.

Pre: Shower
Razor: Rocca R95
Blade: Feather
Brush: 2-Band Silvertip Badgers Rhodium
Soap: Mystic Waters Coconut
Post: RazoRock Amici Splash

Finally got my R95 and she looks even better in real life and feels amazing in the hand, kind of an nice organic feeling I have never felt while holding a razor before. Plenty of grip even when wet, I reckon the grippiest handle I have.

It certainly tamed the feather but in the end a feather is a feather and it will draw some blood if not careful and with the R95 being so smooth this can happen. I think I will stick to Gillete Yellows/Wizamets going forward.

3 passes WTG, XTG and ATG with one extra ATG on the upper face only has done the job once again
