Very happy you achieved an awesome shave with the Yaqi DOC. So much better than the PAA version and at a fraction of the price :)

Brush: RR 400
Razor: Timeless Bronze SB
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4)
Scuttle/Bowl/Mug: Fine Lathering Bowl
Soap: Mikes Lemongrass & Eucalyptus
Post: Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil + Proraso white balm

Second shave with this soap and I managed to achieve a BBS shave in 3 simple passes. I loaded the soap with a wet brush and managed to whip up some slick, creamy lather with little effort. I really enjoy the simplicity of the soap and scent profile is not too over powering, even though you still smell the Lemongrass but its a mild citus which I like. Finished off with the trusty Proraso and another satisfactory SOTD. Love the razor and this blade is in my top 5 for smoothness and efficiency (y) Happy shaves!

Date: 07 May 2018

Pre-shave:- Shower
Brush:- RazoRock Plissoft Synth. 24/57mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Castle Forbes Lavender
Razor/Blade:- Rockwell 6C (R4) / Vintage Wilkinson Sword Stainless Super Sword-Edge #8
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / Lucky Tiger Face Moisturizer / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic

Pre: jojoba oil
Progress XL w/Polsilver
TurnNshave tuxedo fan
HTGAM Original
Anherb balm

Quite a nice soap but really not at the level of the later PAA formulas.

I think it was the 6th shave on the Polsilver and it's still doing great so I'll keep going with it.

Nice face and head shave before bed.
Used the Rockwell on plate 6 with a Nacet blade and had a nice shave.
Don't really have a splash that matches Diamond but the Mint, Vanilla and Eucalyptus splash doesn't have a strong scent so it's one I often use if I'm shaving at night.
Went with a bowl lather tonight but I have to say I much prefer face lathering as for whatever reason I feel like it adds more slickness.

It is indeed in Canberra :)
They do a bloody good job too, plus the range of glenfiddich dosnt hurt :)

But you raise a good point, @Mark1966 would paying for a shave break the sabbatical?
Would supporting small business be so wrong?

Damn, Damn double damn!
Don't worry @Ferret619. I've never tried a straight. But, how hard could it be? I'll happily give you a straight shave and I won't charge you a dime. Your sabbatical will stay intact.
You're welcome. (y)

On an unrelated topic: in a pinch, Dettol is a decent aftershave alternative, right?
