Shave of the Day Thread - 2019

Last night: Henkels rapide with a fresh blade hone with 3 layers of tape. Not a great difference if any with the extra layer of tape while honing.. Very sharp and the aftershave face feel was terrific. I think after a chat with both @Sticky and @Pbgoose the CBN stropping spray is probable the best to achieve a really smooth shave. It is smooth[ish] but could be better. Mind you the shave is very rewarding. It is without doubt the most aggressive "safety" razor I've used feel wise but I didn't at any stage draw blood.

Brush Semogue 830

No photo but a great shave today.

Tony Forsyth - Badger brush.
Rockwell 6s(5)
Shark super platinum (1)
Crown King - Lo Haiku (the bottom has appeared)
APR Idoru Splash (Courtesy of the meetup box)

The Forsyth brush is settling in nicely, super soft tips on the face and a wonderfully dense backbone. It's a bit of a lather hog at the moment but that suits me fine as I have soap to burn through.

The APR Idoru didn't sit so well when I tried it some weeks ago in the pass around box but it grew on me in the hours after application so when I saw it in the meetup box I had to grab it.

3 passes for a DFS with BBS in places.

KarveD-OC w/Polsilver
Yaqi synthetic 24mm
Stirling - Glastonbury
Thayers Lemon

Beautiful lather from the Stirling!

I'm finding the smaller, 24mm synthetics do very well with rapid back/forth motions when face lathering. The 26mm+ do better with swirling.
