Broke out the Auction win - the Rockwell. The first truly 'modern' razor that I have owned, and no I do not count the DE86 that I still have as modern since it is Zamak.

Excellent shave but definitely hard to get used to after years of running a Fatboy. The weight and balance will be something to get used to for sure.

Great to have a SOTD from @Monsta_AU - a rare event! Great shave for me again with the Stirling!

wondering if @Monsta_AU will follow the rabbit into the hole of the modern razors

Yes, I can see your point. @Monsta_AU definitely NEEDS an R95 Birch Bark!

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Southern Skies" 30mm Snow Leopard
Soap: Mystic Water - Jeff's Lavender
Razor: RR SS Hawk V3
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge Cologne

A change of setup today, since the blade in "that other razor" was getting a bit prematurely dull, and I felt like a change.

Last nights shave. Took the day off today to take the wifey for her 2nd vax shot and have a lunch date. While getting daughter ready for childcare we get an email saying the building has no power and therefore no care today :banghead: The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

Razor: Blackland Vector Ti
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild
Brush: Declaration Grooming B13 Go Beyond Jefferson
Soap: Tallow & Steel - Morikami
Post: Tallow & Steel - Morikami

Gave Morikami another shot and I’m still not a fan. It’ll probably get thrown on bst shortly.

bare bum.

How are you enjoying the R41 with the Minora blade? so far.

First use of R41 and it felt a lot tamer than I was expecting. I liked it but based on this first use, I find my Fatip open comb to be smoother and more efficient. I will have to try R41 with a few different blades though.

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: @TroyTools 'Platypig' shaving brush
Soap/Cream: sample of Razor Master Tiovo shaving soap
Razor: Muhle R95 Rocca Birch Bark handle
Blade: Polsilver 'Brown' (6)

I'm not sure if anybody had to use Pinetarsol with skin irritations at any time. That is what I smell like!

Great lather though.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Southern Skies" 30mm Snow Leopard
Soap: Czech & Speake - Oxford & Cambridge
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Chinese No-Name
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge Cologne
COTD: Monsoon Malabar, India

I was inspired by @Holiday's marathon stint with the CNNs to revisit that blade of no name. There have been mornings when I have had great shaves with this blade. This was not one of those mornings. Another example of Chinese quality control. I scratched and scraped my way to an eventual DFS, then chucked the blade out.

@Holiday, you don't have to suffer with these blades out of politeness just because I sent them to you - if you really hate them, just get rid of them :p
