Show us your Shave Billabong / Shave Deno / Shave Shed!

Been toying with the idea (only for about 18 months and still just a forming idea) of moving my shaving into the garage. I have no running water but the thought of an old enamel or galvanised tub as a sink plus a similar old pitcher or bucket to transfer water from a sink in the house each day with only a small piece of mirror (no frame and definitely not wall mounted) would bring the sense of going back in time (I stop short of digging a well in the back yard and drawing my own water). Still just an idea but the "sense of the way it used to be" appeals to me.

I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed..... I'm not talking about the pink walls either but the sheer quantity of stuff I have accumulated :shy:

I think I have a significant problem LOL. The soaps are stacked 2 deep and thee brushes are 3 deep.

I store my razors in a tray when they are not in use. I generally rotate at the beginning of the week and usually only have 1 or 2 out at any given time. At that time the outgoing razor gets cleaned and the thread gets oiled and hten goes back in to storage. Overkill but it keeps me happy LOL.

It is hard to see the razors because of the paper towel (used as protection against scratching - more overkill LOL). In the picture there is a Fine Superlite, 2 Wolfman's (one SB and one OC), Stealth Slant v4, Razorock Wunderbar and a Jurgen Hempel titanium handle. Not pictured is my Rockwell 6s, Supply Provisions SE, Weber PH and EJ DE89.

I keep a handful of blades at the ready in a similar container under the sink. The bulk of my blades are stored in a 50 litre storage container (not pictured)

Also not pictured is my collection of balms, after shaves and frags. Difficult to picture as it is dark where they are kept. Suffice to say that providing pictures of these items would only lead to further embarrassment anyway.

Wow, that's seriously nice Deno! Nothing to be embarrassed about except the pink walls.

As one who regularly shaved whilst traveling in the bush shaving out if a bucket/bowl it is an excellent way to go with only one real downside. Having no running water you'll want to get used to wiping the razor on paper towel to clear the lather or else you won't have clean water for the final rinse. Secondly, and this is the only real issue is that without water pressure, a DE will clog. Rinsing under a tap gives you the benefit of a blast of water. Same when cleaning the razor. You will need to wipe the blade rather than just put it under the tap.

None of this is a deal breaker so by all means give it a go. Just wanted to give you fore warning.

Very nice set up @nsavage - you are among friends here - we all "get it" - nothing to be embarrased about - great work man (y)

I just give the straight a "swish" in the sink to wash away lather & stubble so no running water is not an issue ... ... ... just my failing eyesight in the dim garage light while holding a straight against my face.

Wow... I have nothin' on any of these.
Fantastic dedication, gents.

@nsavage that is incredible. how on earth do you decide what to use on any given day with such an amazing selection to choose from? i would end up staring and not shaving due to being so overwhelmed.

Thanks @beerhog. Razor selection is easy because I choose one at the beginning of the weeek and stick with it. Brush selection isn't too hard either, I just grab one lol. I do tend to gravitate towards certain brushes more often though. Soap selection can sometimes be difficult I'll admit.

Unfortunately I don't have a big enough space to keep everything together but here goes.

And I just realised that you did. Triple score

we need to re-ignite this discussion

Show us your SHAVE DENS/SHAVE SHEDS/SHAVE BILLABONGS and A.R.S.E

Maybe you should show your HMAS fizzy butt stainless steel bowl den while on manoeuvres.
Then I'll but up my Xmas shave using my daughter's bunnykins bowl while on holiday to spice things up for the den thread.

Maybe go further and rename the thread to 'where I shave' as you may get more responses.
Never know could blow out to an extreme sport like cliff ironing (y)
