Ah, so it is the DFS LE brush - very nice that one landed here! Then mine will be a bit different - and larger :D

You are absolutely right, it is about the handle design as well as the knot - but once you have a large handle, a small knot looks somehow out of place...

Anyway, off to SOTD to read your thoughts :)

Joining the sabbatical are we ;)

@Mark1966 I'm trying to otherwise I've got way too much shaving gear under lock'en key to keep my brother out from stealing all my goodies, and he couldn't get off his bum to buy some himself trouble is he doesn't know where to look and search that why he keep calling me Shaving Supplies Sherlock which is not bloody funny ;):oops:

I've ordered the Martin de Candre Scented Shaving Soap 200g today for $80 AUD won't kill the rest of my bloody organs, and that my last shaving gear supplies for at least 8 months or longer than that I hope.

Ah you should have gotten your brother to share the other with you! Brings it down to $67 each, plus don't forget to like their Facebook page, you get €4 for doing it. Every euro counts!

Funnily enough, I said the same thing when I bought the MdC. I don't see the sabbatical happening in any time soon [emoji14]

Finally allowed to get it out of the box - my wife had it for ~2 weeks...my pictures are not of the highest quality and definitely don't do the brush justice

The brush was very soft out of the box - I didn't detect any scritch during my first test lather - but of course a strong backbone and plenty of funk :D
Very happy about the handle and looking very much forward to get properly acquainted ;)

Congratulations. That is one nice brush. Can you fill me in on the details of the brush? Never seen that emblem. Mind the village idiot.

The emblem is brand new and the first time I saw it, was when I looked at my new brush - so definitely nothing to worry about @silver !

It is a brush made by Nathan Clark - he poured the resin for the handle just for me - and deep inside I hope he couldn't get more than one brush out of it :D

The knot is also from him - it is called Envy White Supreme - it is the same brush maker, from which @filobiblic got his

The knot measures 28-29mm out of the socket and has a 55mm loft

Ah! So it's a different knot altogether. I was confused when you said super-soft tips... That explains it; you've got a superior knot. (And ginormous too! Crikey!)

Beautiful brush mate! Love to hear your thoughts in good time. [emoji106]

I'm on Tapatalk so can't be certain, but you do have a dirty great big 2016 sabbatical fail banner next to your name by now don't you?

Thanks for the information. That brush is absolutely stunning. Very beautiful. I don't know about its performance, but it sure makes me Envy. Fitting name! Keen to know what are your thoughts about it.

I thought you have the envy white as well? On etsy he calls it envy white supreme, but it must me the same knot???

To be honest you had me worried with your first impression, but mine really has zero scritch, just a really decent backbone...

And it's not that big - its his 26mm knot (at the plug) which gets to 28-29 out of the socket - I realised this is my favourite size :D

Anyway, it's going to be my brush for at least the next 10 days and then I'll know more

But I'm still being VERY restrained ...
