Yes but please let's not ever forget that this is not an Australian chapter, splinter, alternative, version, or whatever you want to call it, of YKW - there's "The Great Southern Land" for that! P&C is a world away, and a world apart. I believe the prerequisite for a probate's entry once was having been officially banned from YKW! Some over achiever's like @gunrunningpreacherman....oh sorry that's right @Drubbing , got banned twice! (all hail!). I know @Monsta_AU has let things go a little to let the likes of me in. But as observed about a year ago now...

"….where Gary is also Banned.
Hmmm…so Paste and Cut is like the Foreign Legion for wet shavers - no questions asked to join but we assume you join because you have a questionable history."

So let's keep up our standards and not forget our roots hey fellas.
NB: note the non-use of the thumbs-up emoticon in homage to Drubs.

I think great southern land is no more @stillshunter
Oops I stand corrected. It is there. I thought it had been disbanded, maybe that was just talking about sales that was banned.

Hmmm...well as long as here doesn't become the new there. Why do I feel like I'm halfway through the Deadwood series? You know where the town is transforming from the cosy backwater that my hero Al Swearengen ruled to the smoking pile of civility it was destined to become after the arrival of Seth Bullock - I blame him!!!

But you arrived mid way through that transition. Are you Seth in disguise? No wonder you keep getting/giving so many likes!

I appreciate the gags, and I make them as a shorthand for everything I find intolerable about such forums. I dislike YKW for many reasons, least of all the bans, best thing that ever happened to me online. Well the first one was almost a request, but the offer was taken up rather too quickly. From a fellow aussie (mod) at that.

The clear commercialism of it makes much of it fake, like so much of the congeniality. It's controlled, there's hyperbole and hype. Way too much. The BST benefits from the hype, some of it deliberately started to make profits (The Cade scam of a few years ago is but one). Some vendors are favoured and when they are given mod status - to rule on other vendors, there's clearly something rotten at the top. YKW showed its real colours during the Simpson debacle, and Simpsons didn't fare well out of it either. This is all part of the big forum, and they all tend to be alike when they get that large, regardless of the pursuit they're covering.

P&C is where cynics, KYW drop-outs and blow-ins hang... I'm glad they've made you feel welcome KD. Everyone here tends to get a little of track...

P&C to me at least, is that seedy back alley bar only the locals know of and frequent, whilst the tourist pour their hard earned into the coffers at the soulless flashy main strip vendors.
I'm actually happy to frequent here, which for those that know me, speaks volumes :)
