Group Organised Buy: Jabonman Soaps

I know that group orders have the potential to become complicated and messy, but I really see no reason why that should be the case here. Phil has set this up extremely well (much like Nick did with the Mike's), with clearly defined prices and targets for viability. He's established a timeline with clear requirements, and kept us up to date with communication from the vendor. He's fulfilled his half of the bargain. The onus is now on us, as participants, to meet his requirements and facilitate success. I don't mean to preach at y'all, but I think it's important to clearly recognise our part of the bargain too as the headaches and complications will predominantly land on Phil and not us. To that end, it would be great to define (and stick to) a set deadline for orders. I'd be happy to increase it by a week so see if more people would like to get on board, but ultimately I think that the decision is Phil's. It might also help if participants could state their order preferences here, so that we can all get an idea of how this is progressing and assess the likely costs.

To that end, I'm definitely in for two soaps. The Wet Earth and the Violets are my preference.

So postage at this stage is 30 euros.
Actually, we could go the cheaper option of International Economy rather than Express.

No weight limit: International Economic Mail 17.37 euros fixed + 5.16 / kg

For the 9 soaps it would be 27.69 Euros with Economy. (I'd have to check whether that includes tracking/insurance though.)

@Mong. , mate, I'm listening to my inner Drubs here and fighting the urge to plus-up this post with some smilies. Very well said - should be a sticky in a Group Buys thread I reckon. Also restrained smilies directed @filobiblic , he has been - esp. his comms - exemplary throughout this process. So Mong's onto something I reckon, if we can stick with his proposed ground rules we might show that this thing can be civil and be possible.

So since we're playing Open Misère, I'm going for the Wet Earth and then it gets hazy. Ordering today it will most likely be Eastern Breeze, but I waver towards the Violets too. But I can't order the exact same as @Mong. surely.

Thanks @Mong.

So far I have:
@Mong. for 2
@filobiblic for 2
@stillshunter for 2
@nownicked for 3

That's 9 soaps in total. So postage at this stage is 30 euros.

What do you @stillshunter and @Nonick say about extending a week until Sunday 23 November?
Not being halfway through the PCTB2 I have no objections to the extension.

It doesn't matter to me. This is my 2015 soap so anytime before Christmas. Economy shipping may take quite a few weeks to come, have to take a poll savings verses more sleeps before lathering up with the Spanish urchins drain cleaner

Although as far as the extension I think most people that are remotely interested would have piped up by now? But whatever you think Phil, I'm easy

Oh yeah. good call @Nonick , I'd forgotten about the postage question. My gut's saying to pony up for Express. Nothing to do with getting the soaps earlier but I distinctly remember a reply I received from G&C about their postage rates being high as they insisted on using a more expensive trackable Cooreos service. I fear standard post is not so much slow as has a history. So my hand is up as being willing to pay extra for better shipping.

Thanks all- I hear you.

Re: Postage
If it's only going to be us (ie those who have replied so far), then we can go the few extra Euros for the Express postage.

Re: Extension for replies
I tend to agree with you NowNicked- those who would be interested have probably replied by now. Furthermore, anyone else interested after Sunday could PM me for Manuel's email and order two soaps for themselves easily enough.
So with that in mind, we will wait one more day for replies (and Stillsy's dilemma of choosing a second flavour [emoji11]).

So I'll end this group buy tomorrow on Sunday 16 November as first decided.
Anyone else???

Waiting for @stillshunter to decide his final choice of scents then we're good to go.

Can we impose a time limit where after we get to choose his scent? I think he may be interested in 'warthog'

He's probably waiting for his grass to grow so that his cattle can eat it.
Either that or he's desperately rubbing beard-u-grow in an effort to grow stubble in order to use the travelling box again before he has to return it.

Oh jeez fellas. Unlike you guys I don't got access to the interwebs at work. I suppose that's why I'm so painful for the few hours when I am online…hmmm, maybe keep those alternate theses to yourselves.
Sorry for holding everyone up, please sign me up for Jabonman's Tierra Humeda and Brisa de Oriente
Noting Manuel has a reputation for adding samples, if there's a sample of Violetas can I put a hand up for some?

So what's everyone else getting?

Yep. I was going to mention samples. I think he usually gives approx one per soap. If there is a soap you'd like a sample of, tell me before 9pm D-EST.

If it's one sample per pot then along with the Violets, I'd be interested in trying either the Lime-Incense (with Menthol) or Ylang Ylang-Patchouli-Orange
BTW: just realised I was working my selection off another site - hence the selection is Spanish :oops:, my two tubs are:
- Wet Earth (Tierra Humeda), and
- Eastern Breeze (Brisa de Oriente)

C'mon fellas, what did you get?

Hey fellas see our new banners? A little disappointed to be honest - I'd liked to have earned the title "Group Buy Consigliere"…but hey, this only spurs me on to do better next time.

Is it only RM who has this power?

Eastern breeze
Lima incense - with menthol
