Lather can be very personal, but from my point of view @pvsampson : you have too much air and water in comparison to soap
Lather should be:
A - slick, so your blade can glide over your face
B - protective, so there should be a cushion on your face
Large air bubbles pop in front of your blade. This will stop your glide and lead most likely to weepers and/or cuts. You want a thick creamy lather with no visible large air bubbles and a shiny/runny consistency
