A pact of cooperation was arrived at this evening between the British and the Japanese. 2 passes.
First pass eliminated most of 2 days growth at the blade of the 5/8" Bengall, the second pass while really a cleanup and training run was the job of the folding kamisori sent to me by @Draco Noir. With much less stubble I was able to get more of a feel for the blade and it really does its job well.
Razors :Bengall and Japanese folding Kamisori.
Brush :Vie Long Blonde horse hair
Soap mine in a scuttle.
DFS and happy.

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soaop: Barrister and Mann Vetyver Santal
Razor: iKon B1 OSS
Blade: PSI
Post: alum, witch hazel, Myrsol Agua Balsamica

First go with the B&M, loaded the brush adequately and the proto lather looks pretty dense and snow white. Now, the last time I had a vetyver soap, it caused some irritation to my skin. Being a little worried that I might be allergic to one of my favourite scents, I was pretty worried that that burning sensation might happen with this soap.

Brush pointing towards the face, approaching face, painting stroke. Yes! No burn, love it. It's a fantastic soap. Great glide and it's a very thirsty soap. I can just go all out with the water content and still get a thick fat lather. Scent is just intoxicating. Initially I couldn't single out the lemon, once lathered up, it actually creates a very nice balance amongst the New Caledonian sandalwood and the Haitian Vetiver.

I finally got my matching black handle for the B1 razor heads I own. I think I prefer the bamboo handle than the bulldog. Feels great holding it and the extra weight certainly helps with the shave. No regrets buying one. PSI sure is very well paired with my OSS.

Post shave felt great, thanks to the lanolin and Shea butter. By far one of the best post shave feel in my arsenal. That's also because this is the first soap I own that has lanolin and Shea butter in it.

Finished off with my trusty alum, witch hazel and agua Balsamica. Such a luxury wet shaving is. Zen time of my day, ready to accept tomorrow's challenge. Sorry about the long post.

I need to try out the SH tallow formula. Surely it can't get better than this?

Nice shave UpOver with DownUnder! [emoji41]

Blade: Vintage Schick Superior Platinum (5)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Myrsol Formula K

Ahhhh, May Madness. You are showing me a lot about brushes and lathering, about the subtle variations arising from slightly varying routines depending on the day and the context.

Hang in there guys - not long to go!

Having contacted the artisan about my issues with the soap they suggested a dry bloom to bring out more of the scent

I tried that & it improved the scent marginally. I was expecting a really strong bold strength but I'm still not getting it.

I'm going to keep going with it hoping that it reveals itself after a couple of shaves as the quality of the product is really great in terms of cushion & slickness.

I have heard of soaps with a top 'layer' where the scents were not the same/strong as below. I think that my B&M Roam exhibits this a bit

Preshave: PAA Ice preshave soap and Proraso Red preshave
Razor: Standard
Blade: Feather(2)
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom(May Madness)
Post Shave: Gummy Balm and Fine L'Orange Noir
Two pass shave with a touch up around the neck. The donut increases in size but there is still soap in the tub. The feather blade was smoother second time round but just as sharp and efficient. The Fine after shave is superb, the scent and face feel are all class. Ready for lunch with a some gentlemen.

Brush: Semogue Owners Club boar
Soap: Shaver Heaven Lilith
Razor: Leresche #77

Another brilliant shave all round. The SH Lilith is thick and slick; beautiful scent and excellent performance. The Leresche is a top performer; smooth and comfortable with no effort.

Face Wash : Menthol Lime Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Romera Silvertip
Soap : I Coloniali
Razor : Fine Slant
Blade : Polsilver SS [3]
After Shave : Alum, Witch Hazel, Speick AS

There were two heroes in today's shave - the lather and the razor/blade combo. After getting a tutorial from @Lifes a Peach in I Coloniali Lathering, it has rocketed up my personal popularity list. The Romera brush performed flawlessly, giving me a lather with amazing glide and body. Add to this a unique fragrance, and it's easy to see how some shavers get fanatical about it.

Today was shave #4 with the Polsilver SS blade. It still shows no sign of dulling or fatigue at all, and provided me with a shave just as comfortable as day 1 of the trial. 2 passes (XTG and ATG) got me right in the zone, and a tiny touch up of one trouble spot gave me a BBS clean sweep. Interestingly, in spite of the closeness of the shave there was no sting from the alum at all. You have to like that kind of result :)

Finished up in much the usual way, with the Speick adding its super clean fragrance to things. A wonderful face feel to finish up with :)

Take it from me - who used 1st anniversary yesterday, and Tallow V2 today... oh yes, it does get better than this. Sooo much thick creamy yogurt with soooo much glide sweet sweet stuff it is. Still, I know at least one user who wasn't as impressed as I and was more than happy to stay with the vegan.
