Early morning shave today.

brush: yaqi synthetic
soap: Shaver heaven 1st anniversary
aftershave: APR SAA
EdT: APR Fresca

I was a bit worried of this soap as in the first uses I feel more the alcohol of the after shaves so I was wondering either some reaction from any component, the lack or tallow or whatsoever, but today it did great, so the problem was on me not on the soap :) (still I prefer tallow, both in the kitchen and in the soaps :D )
bugger I got a parcel from Dan just the day I have to spend more time at the office and my gf has been sniffing everything :cry:

It was a DFS Shave with the Astra blade but not as smooth and as close a shave as I routinely attain with a Gillette blade, particularly with the Silver Blue. It seems the blade is an important factor in even an adjustable razor.

An unusual "Radio" 1912 this morning. I believe these were made in the 1920's by Ever Ready previous to the Ever Ready 1912. Nothing unusual about the shave though, just the usual great 1912 DFS, nice handle though.
Enjoying the Squadron performance and scent as ever.

And this song kept running through my head as I shaved!

Preshave Proraso
Razor : PAA Bakelite Slant open Comb
I ve mixed some Arko with L'Occitane shaving cream in my suribachi and added few drops of Glycerine.
Blade : Feather 2nd shave

Surprisingly it went quite well this time, the slant is a bit scary I got a pretty close shave without blood (almost) and very little Alum feedback.

Nice change, my technique is improving ( I shaved with a sharper angle today that seems to help and for the first time I did not use a new blade)

Nice shave this morning, straight razor technique. Ok, there was a little blood.:) Fragrance on the soap is not so one dimensional now it's had a week or so to mature and it's very nice to use. Would that be the clay or menthol @borked ?

Aftershave: St John's Bay Rum​

Slightly harsh, but fine shave, but nothing the styptic pencil couldn't cover. Almost 2 weeks' growth, and very dry skin. Probably could have used a longer run with the hot towel.

Good end result.

Wow!! I can't believe the Super Max Blue Diamond Platinum Coated blade edge finished at 2 shaves maximum with the R41, so I've place a new blade Gillette Sputnik and see how far this can last using the R41.
