I really enjoy splashing my face all day with this warm weather, specially latter in the season as I will spent on boats counting marine wildlife. I am looking for cheaper versions that may still be good for the skin. One alternative could be buying Tayers splashes, but I found that in the chemist stores there is a cheap toner made of witch hazel. Has anyone tried the ones from chemist discount?

I mean, this kind of products:

cheers

I use it, when I cut myself (hands etc.), but on my face I just don't like the drying effect of alcohol...would be great, if they formulate an alcohol free version one day

Yes. Thayer's has alcohol free versions. I use the alcohol free "unscented" version. It literally has no scent at all.

I also has a "medicated" version with alcohol, cloves, and a bunch of other stuff.

I understand that Thayer's has its own private sources of Witchhazel.

WOW!! God I've missed Speick Aftershave Lotion the light blue/red label gave me a very quick sharp burn feeling for about 10 second after my shave, I'm still loving my SS General follow by Route 66 ~ Barbershop Hop shaving soap with lanolin which is a light, clean, slightly sharp powdery barbershop scent very slick and very thick lather.

thanks all of you @Scotty @SpeedyPC @Ross @alfredus and the rest that comment this products. I think I will go though the chemist one that you also pointed out, but I saw at sale tayers peach in beard and blade, so I may save some money buying new blades too :) . I do have a nice skin (normally I am aged 10 years under my real age, sometimes 5 under...) so adding alcohol to the skin won't be a problem for me. I want something that don't let my hands "splashy" for a while with good stuff as I will be working, and to not be very expensive, as I will abuse it :) . I want something to tone my face, not need of great scents or properties, because I tend to use a lot, and now Fine L'Orange Noir and APR suitably attired Australian are lowering on the bottles very fast :D

going back to the thread theme, not shave today :( . just arrived home. Mates, I love Australia, but bureaucracy sometimes sucks here! it takes too much energy and time to fill in. Well, most of the first world is on the same awkward way, but not so long ago things were easier to get permits, fit government paperworks, or even uni stuff etc...

Have a nice night!

Brush: Omega Synthetic Hi-Brush
Soap: Henry Cavendish Himalaya
Razor: Gillette Slim (+5)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
A/S: Old Spice/Nivea Balm

My first shave with Henry Cavendish Himalaya All Natural Shave Soap with Shea Butter and Soy. It was at the least a DFS, both smooth and comfortable and without drama.

This shave soap, which has a light scent, is described as a "traditional English glycerin-based soap". It is a hard puck (2.5" X 1 3/8" thick). It requires a bit of effort to make a rich lather, but it is worth it. The soap is made in the US.

I needed to take my medicine at the end of OCtober following straight on as it did from SEptember.

I'm not sure how many more of these themed months I can do, might have to say NOvember :)
