Razor: Vintage Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Personna 'Lab Blue' blade (2)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch distressed Culmak reknotted in TGN finest
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fougère Bourbon Rose shaving soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fougère Bourbon Rose splash
Balm: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fougère Bourbon Rose balm
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Fougère Bourbon Rose EDP

No fancy prose, just a dam fine shave before a busy day.

Brush - Yaqi Blue Timber Wolf
Soap - Dr Jon’s Classic
Razor - Rockwell 6s (4)
Blade - Kai
Aftershave - AP Reserve Ozymandias

Seems the Kai blade gets better after a few uses. Was going to toss it after 1 shave but thought I’ll do a second to see. After that I was going to toss it but again thought “let’s try fro a third”. Now I think it could do a fourth but might swap it tomorrow regardless.

This soap sample seems never ending. Today was the 10th use of a sample from Maggards. There will be enough for 1 more I feel. Anyone have experience with the number of uses from these samples?

Finally, first use of the Yaqi Timber Wolf brush today. Very nice to use and probably on par with my Big Bruce. For the price, about $21 delivered I’d say it’s great value.

Happy shaving gents!

Face lather again, I'm determined to make this work. I super loaded the brush for like 30 seconds, and got a pretty decent lather in a reasonable time. The F2 base works pretty well with a face lather (compared to the B&M Reserve base). I find you experience the scent a lot more face lathering.

This scent is working for most types of weather so far. Beautiful morning in Sydney.

Well, back after 9 days holiday in Cairns, where it rained EVERY DAY. So much for escaping Victoria for some winter sun. Had some reasonable shaves whilst on holiday, but limited myself to a couple of soaps and my old Merkur 38c. Great to be back home and have the whole kit and kaboodle on offer. I was going to reach Skye Fall, but had a last minute change of mind. I love this soap and will definitely buy it again. As for the razor and blade. It felt very mild today and did a really decent job after two passes, with no nicks. All in all a happy shaver.

Pre-Shave: SebaMed, cold water
Razor: Rex Ambassador (2)
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Shavemac ATG 2017 LE
Lather: Mike's Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper
Post-Shave: Alum, Thayers Original Alcohol Free Witch Hazel, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

A very leisurely Friday afternoon shave with the Rex on 2 to start the weekend. A very relaxing shave, but still a very close result - the super slick Mike's lather whipped up by this luxurious Shavemac certainly added to the overall magnificent shave.

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday (y)

I have a couple of tucks of Feathers and can't remember when I used one,or even if I had.Turns out I should have been using them. It's well known they are sharp but I did not realize how smooth they are as well.In the Yaqi the blade just scythed through two days growth like it wasn't there, and the first pass was surprisingly close, second pass left me smooth and with zero irritation.I will try the sample blades I have, but the Feathers will be in my rotation with Polsilvers and Nacets.

It’s the start of the weekend so a bit of extravagance today.
A sample of Kampuchea Noir Attar by Xerjoff kindly gifted to me. This is a 100% Cambodi Oud oil which is distilled from aged wild Meghalayan aquilaria agallocha oud chips.
Got this layered with a couple of sprays of Kemi ‘ILM a blend of Indian Assam, Bangladeshi and Laos Oud.
I smell immense.

Pretty good ones!!

Brush - Yaqi Mysterious Space Tuxedo
Soap - Dr Jon’s Classic sample
Razor - Rockwell 6s R4
Blade - Kai
Aftershave - Stirling Ben Franklin

First go with the Yaqi today and it was pretty good. Different to the Big Bruce as the knot seems shorter, probably set deeper into the handle I guess. Splay was good for face lathering and the lather itself seemed to be a faster process. Maybe it holds a better amount of water since I only had to add water 3 times in all.

Have a great day, fellas!

The yaqi tuxedo definitely holds more water due to the density.

It's a fantastic brush. I used mine today.

I have a bunch of Yaqi brushes and I'm really impressed with all of them!!
