An excellent alternative to standard carts!
It's brilliant.
I don't get to use it often as my wife's blades are usually loaded but I really enjoy using it with my Polsilver blades.
An excellent alternative to standard carts!
SOTD thanks to a trade with @tullfan
Pre-shave: Shower
Brush: Semogue - 1460 (still on my first)
Soap: Stirling - Coniferous
Razor: Merkur - Progress # 3
Blade: Nacet (1)
The coniferous is a very nice soap keeping up with the quality I have come to expect from Stirling. A very nice scent that gets the senses tingling but not as much as menthol standards
I have been wanting to try the Nacet since @lerenau suggested a good match with R6S. I can see why they are so popular, almost as sharp as a Feather and right up there with GSB and Polsilvers.
I got 11 shaves out of my last blade GSB and could have gone another one but it started feeling a bit scratchy. A good blade is like a good hair cut. You just start to like it and before you know it is time for another one.
Interesting to see how many I get out of the Nacet.
Join the dark side... We have close shaves. Muhahahaha!I have been wanting to try the Nacet since @lerenau suggested a good match with R6S. I can see why they are so popular, almost as sharp as a Feather and right up there with GSB and Polsilvers.
It's very apple-forward to my nose, with all the 'resins' supporting it - quite a mass-appealing scent I'd imagine. Strongly scented, and the splash lasts an entire day. It actually pairs very well with Torchwood (EdP)!hey mate.. i was looking to get this, how is the smell?
How would you describe scent profile of this soap?
One positive is that you still have the aftershave (which is all I have from this scent) and can get the glorious smell at any time you desire, until that ends up in the finished products sticky too!Pre-shave: Hot Shower
Brush: Vintage, butterscotch Rooney shaving brush
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve APR Fougere Bourbon Rose shaving soap
Razor: Vintage L 1 Gillette 'Slim" adjustable (5)
Blade: Polsilver 'Brown' (6)
Post-shave: Australian Private Reserve APR Fougere Bourbon Rose splash
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve APR Fougere Bourbon Rose EDP
Really went for it today, the heat of competition to finish ahead of @tim33z in my mind. The Rooney tore through the soap - I now have a post in the Finished Product thread.
But alas, the sense of victory was short lived. As I looked at the empty Fougere Bourbon Rose in my hand I felt empty, bereft, as if an old friend had gone never to return.
Why did you not prepare me for this people? You who post regularly about your finished products - why was there no warning?
I hope I can make it through to the CBR Meet Up tomorrow and get some sympathy and support there.

But think what can be added to your soap stock supply now!!
So what happens to the remaining items in the FBR profile?Mix soaps / aftershaves / cologne or perfume
That is above my pay grade !
So what happens to the remaining items in the FBR profile?
FTFYWould gifting the EDP to @tim33z win me any brownie points? It is a ‘manly’ scent after all ...
FTFY
Is $50,000 much help?LOL - that autocorrect is a bitch isn’t it!
Would selling the unobtanium EDP to @tim33z for an exorbitant price help my bank balance at all? I would throw in the dregs of aftershave gratis.
Is $50,000 much help?
Surely there is a soap you own that the aftershave will overpower easily and not cause conflict. Perhaps Arko! ??
Sorry @todras lol I know those items don’t ever belong in the same contextual drivel...
One weeks pay! Bargain of the century...$50k ? Done mate. PP F&F please
