Of all your beautiful razors Jamie I think this is my favourite.

Thanks, Steve,

Had another menthol shave this time without the proraso green preshave as i wanted to test the performance and cooling effect of the soap alone. Still had that menthol cooling effect on the 2nd and 3rd pass but not on the first where i usually add the preshave. Performance of soap was still excellent and ended with the proraso green splash.

The splash was cooling but not overly. I now know i love menthol but will stick with the pre-shave to add to the effect and look for a stronger cooling effect it the splash, might add some crystals as mentioned by others.

Pre: Warm Shower
Razor: Rockwell 6C R4
Blade: Persona Platinum (2)
Brush: Yaqi Moka Express
Soap: Caties Bubbles Menthol High
Post: Proraso Green AS splash + Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel

Pre: Hot shower and Proraso Pre cream
Razor: Rockwell 6S (2)
Blade: Permasharp (3) for 1st pass then discarded for a Gillette Platinum for rest of shave
Soap: Caties Bubbles Tonsorial Parlour
Brush: Yaqi Timber Wolf synthetic
Post: Proraso green splash

From the first swipe of the razor with the 3rd use of the permasharp, i knew i had to replace it. I kept going for the full pass, but it was simply horrible. Throwing in a fresh Gillette Platinum and things returned to normality. I now know the Permasharp is to be tossed after 2 shaves.

I do hate trying to load a brush with minimal soap remaining in the container, so i just this instant decided that its going into a spare container (yes, i do have these now :)) to become a mishmash of all my remnants of soaps. Once full, it will be a soap of many different attributes i guess...

Indeed.
And I have a weakness for Aogami Super Steel.

Another try with this blade in another razor and more harshness again. So back it went in the 1904 to give a solid DFS. These blades actually appear thicker than the Lord blades I am used to so perhaps don't bend as much in my razors, turning a normally mild razor setup into quite an aggressive one. It's only ultra mild razors where the results are acceptable - albeit at the significant cost of efficiency. But in this mode it's very mild on the skin at least so will have a place when I want to give my skin a rest.

This is a decent cream with low scent but you have to use so much product that the largish tube won't last long...

I can’t thank Dan, @todras enough. Having recently ran out of Santal soap Dan reached out and very kindly sent me some Santals base to put in my own soap, unbelievable really, what a gesture. Such a gorgeous scent. So this morning I set about making a new batch of soap, enough for two tubs.
My soap is a tallow effort and has the usual suspects in it, 1% discounted with quite a high additional superfat of 10%. This is made up of oils my skin appears to love. Argan, Jojoba and Prickly Pear.
The aftershave is half a bottle of Santal which I added a couple of drops of Kampuchea Noir oud about 6 months ago. This is quite frankly ridiculous.
All finished off with a swipe of Kampuchea Noir oud.
