Czech & Speake is basically Valobra with C&S scent. I would give the edge to C&S for performance, but like Valobra, their soap scent strength is very subtle. I prefer stronger scent strength in a soap, and hence give the edge to MdC on that count. The two MdC soaps I have are Fougere and Rose.

In and out of medical appointments today. Somehow managed to pick up a clinical scent. What better way to get rid of it by using this wonderful gear. Now smell nice and ready for a hot date with the wife tonight.

thanks for the comparison. I have L'Original and Argrumes MdC. I would like to add rose and vetyver to the collection too.

Notwithstanding the difficulties of loading from a sample, I really enjoyed this soap today - the whole package was pretty good but the scent was a real Goldilocks in terms of being interesting but not overbearing.

I have a puck of this soap - it has a wonderful scent. Very fresh and alluring, yet comforting.

Really enjoyed that shave, very close and smooth. The soap a modern twist of Bay Rum paired with the classic aftershave. Feels very good post shave.

Had a threesome with two virgins last night
An older Japanese & a younger German
So went the full sensitive TOBS Jermyn Street route for these break ins
5/8” Dovo Bergischer Lowe got a Full Naniwa progression to remove the factory scratches
6/8” New Azuma Got a Jnat run Uchimoguri to remove the factory edge then to the Nakayama Asagi with nagura progression
This is a scary sharp Kamisori whittles hair with ease

That's going to be uncomfortable for a while. There's got to be a good story in that.

Aftershave: Alum and Tallow + Steel Sicily

Since finishing T+S Sicily I've been working through my soaps. My previous shave was with MDC and I absolutely had to use it again today. Every time I use MDC I question why I bother with anything else. It's not the most glamorous soap nor is is the best smelling, but it gets the job done. With a sufficiently hydrated lather it performs similarly to Declaration grooming, Tallow + Steel, and Barrister and Mann. I understand that some people find the soap drying I, however, do not experience this. Once I work through my artisan soaps I may switch to MDC exclusively.
