First time with the Henson and first time with Wholly Kaw's Siero base.
Even for the "medium" this razor is super mild. Very little to no blade feel. And the shape of the head forces you to shave at the angle IT wants and not allow you to find the sweet spot yourself. 3 passes with a lot of buffing to get to DFS+ (some rough patches still, so not BBS). While the minimal blade exposure protects you from cuts, it doesn't protect you from irritation, and I got razor burn for the first time in a long time. I shaved with the recommended Astra SP, but may switch over to something sharper, like a Feather to see if that will improve the shave like it did for the Merkur 34C.
Onto the Wholly Kaw. That Siero base is everything everyone has described and more. It's arguably the best base I have used to date. It's like Milksteak, only
better. Super slick lather with minimal water (although I read that adding more water won't break the lather easily), glide, cushion, and post shave is on par with any of the elite bases. I'd like to buy more, but as good as I think it is, I don't think it is 33% better than B&M Excelsior, which can be had for cheaper. Also, none of WK's Siero base scented soaps really appeal to me. Even Vor V, which comes off to me as raspberry patchouli, wasn't unpleasant to use, but I'm not swooning over it and neither is my GF. Iced Tea will be interesting since the scent was a collab with Mammoth Soaps (now House of Mammoth).
