Pre: Proraso white pre-shave cream
Brush: TF Customs Woodrot
Soap: Squadron, Sweetheart
Razor: IKON SBS Head, SS Handle
Blade: Gillette Minora (6)
After: Stirling, Sharp Dressed Man (tiny sample bottle)

At 136 grams, this razor is like a sharp hammer. Fantastic shave.
The plate is reversible, and has open comb one side, and closed comb the other. 4 variations in the one unit.
I used the "4 dots down" orientation as recommended by @Bucephalus and others on the internets, and stayed only with the open comb for all 3 passes.
Very close shave, and still feeling so 12 hours later, but most importantly, no irritation afterwards. Not even a dry sore throat (skinside, not inside).
The used Minora may have played a part in that too, but whatever, I liked it.
Moving onto the other 3 possible configurations one by one to see what they feel like individually. Will keep the same blade for all test shaves to try and maintain some consistency.

A month ago I mentioned my Sweetheart soap was changing by way of one of the components crystalizing, for want of a better word. This experience was soon echoed by @bernie01 too with his tub of same soap.
With only a couple tablespoons left in the tub, I had nothing to lose by a little experiment to try to dissolve/reintegrate this product back to normal consistency.
I put the soap tub into a bowl of hot water (topping up the hot water regularly to maintain temp) and thoroughly stirring the now creamy (mashed potato like) soap thoroughly to melt back into solution these little soft white crystals that had formed. Well it worked. Thats all I did, and now it feels right again. For how long I don't know, but I think this tub will see more regular rotation (can't just focus on one soap though) to see it finished.
A little time invested and a good result with a consistent creamy and smooth soap again. Still smells nice too. Would have dumped it otherwise.

Lupo 72
Nacet
Matilda 2-Band Silvertip
Tabac
XXX Splash

My beard eats blades up. This was only my third shave today with the nacet in the 72. First two passes a little rough but nothing too bad, switched over to a fresh nacet for the third pass and it was like a night/day difference, super smooth.. godd thing I’ve got a few blades around :)

the badger performance was excellent, natural brushes are becoming my favourites for sure

Much better result this morning, went with a damp brush and then loaded hard, slowly added water to the tips and got towards a consistency that I was happy with. No doubt the blade played a part, but I do find the slim to be a mild shaver (even on setting 9). Managed two nice passes though.

Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Skin & Stubble
Brush: Yaqi Moka
Soap: Razorock What the Puck Orange Sunrise
Razor: Razorock Gamechanger 84P OC
Blade: Voskhod
Post: Nivea Skin & Stubble

Not the bloodbath I thought it might be with my first open comb razor. Blade feel galore so I took it nice and easy. The Voskhod felt smooth enough on the WTG and XTG but ATG the first stroke felt so rough I switched it out to a Dorco ST-301 (still a teeny bit apprehensive to go full on sharper) and that worked better but still not great. However, shaving diagonally across the grain at about 30-45 degrees depending on where on my face, gave some pretty good results. Still a learning curve for me using an OC. Will work my way up the Gillette blades and see where I can hit the sweet spot.

The soap... performed well enough, I think there's a very small range of hydration level for it to be optimal. Smelt a bit like a toilet freshener though. I've taken to using a mini grater for hard pucks and adding it to the bowl with a bit of water for it to bloom.
Put more cap on your face and less teeth, you can shave with anything if you keep the blade angle shallow. (y)

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: CaYuen "Copper Ore" 30mm SynBad

Razor: RR SS Hawk V3
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Stirling Bergamot Lavender EDT

I hadn't realised just how much soap this brush eats. Yesterday I only just broke through to the bottom, now there's a yawning green hole the size of a 20¢ coin.

Blemish aside, I knew it was going to shave well as soon as I dropped the blade in place and assembled the razor. Alignment is perfect. As you'd expect from a machined razor. This isn't a $7 Rimei. Smoother than the Lupo 95, has just enough blade feel to give you that feedback you need for an accurate shave and works well everywhere else. Good efficiency, balance, manuverability. Excellent mid-level shave. Part of me just wanted to get the 72, but if I did, I'd always wonder if the 95 shaved better. Well, it doesn't - for the moment. I may play around with the 95 with some different blades to see if I can improve the shave. Lately, I've been moving more toward milder shaves and away from full-on axes like the DSCosmetic Z0. This razor may fit the bill.

Thanks Mark, but I have to say it's getting very hard at the moment with the huge price increases in air-freight and (especially) sea-freight. The increase in sea-freight prices is measured in hundreds of percent but that is the only way aftershaves and edt's can be imported. Admittedly there has been an ongoing shortage of shipping containers, which together with ports either closed or running on reduced staff, has led to price increases but there also seems little doubt there is price gouging going on.

It will be next year, at least, before freight prices are anywhere near normal. Until then, expect to see many retailers with out of stock items. Still, we are much better off than those involved in the arts under lockdown. How long before we have to explain to youngsters what a 'theatre' or 'play' or 'concert' is?

Hey mate, thanks for the update. It is good to get some insights into the 'other side' of the business. It can be easy for us to whinge about out of stocks and the costs of the 'Aussie Tax' on items, but it sure is not easy being the retailer in these circumstances!

Theatre? Play? Concert? If only there could be COVID bubbles, special exemptions, charter flights, family reunion plans ...

Hang on - what do you think this is? Football or something!

For some reason, while indulging my infantile obsession with lavender, I've been neglecting this soap and I don't know why. Perfect for a fine, balmy day when the weather around the Great Western Tiers isn't trying to kill us. Perfect for any day actually, but for some reason I sort of associate it with the cooler months.

...and there were those who (very mildly) mocked my stocking up with multiple multiple tubs of Bergamot Lavender. Who's laughing now, hmmm?

Still, I dare to hope your clientele are by now loyal enough to absorb any price increases you have to make without complaint.

We've been pretty much insulated from the depredations of COVID here in TAS. We only (so far) have had the one lockdown, and theatres are still open (provided we're prepared to mask up) and people are now getting used to routinely "checking-in" everywhere without complaint. How lucky we are...

200th day in hard lockdown, needed some pepping up this morning. Was rewarded with a wonderful three pass shave. This soap is in the Nai base (vegan I do believe). I found it easier to work with than the Kairos and had enough lather for about 5 passes. Blade and razor worked wonderfully.
