Okay, I'm 0- 2 on the Kairos base. Another fantastic scent, but I failed to get the lather to the consistency that I prefer. I'm going to try with a synthetic tomorrow to see if that makes a difference.

Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Skin & Stubble
Brush: Yaqi Moka
Soap: Razorock What the Puck Orange Sunrise
Razor: Razorock Gamechanger 84P OC
Blade: Voskhod
Post: Nivea Skin & Stubble

Not the bloodbath I thought it might be with my first open comb razor. Blade feel galore so I took it nice and easy. The Voskhod felt smooth enough on the WTG and XTG but ATG the first stroke felt so rough I switched it out to a Dorco ST-301 (still a teeny bit apprehensive to go full on sharper) and that worked better but still not great. However, shaving diagonally across the grain at about 30-45 degrees depending on where on my face, gave some pretty good results. Still a learning curve for me using an OC. Will work my way up the Gillette blades and see where I can hit the sweet spot.

The soap... performed well enough, I think there's a very small range of hydration level for it to be optimal. Smelt a bit like a toilet freshener though. I've taken to using a mini grater for hard pucks and adding it to the bowl with a bit of water for it to bloom.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Tarkine" 26mm Tuxedo
Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Razor: RR SS Hawk V3
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Stirling Bergamot Lavender EDT
COTD: Shakisso Estate, Ethiopia

This razor (with the standard plate) is what I would call mild, so the added exposure of the Pro Super makes for a nice, efficient weekday shave. I keep playing with the other blades from time to time, but this is where it works best for me. I'm further along with this tub of Stirling than I had thought, the bottom of the tub is peeking shyly through the soap. That'll be two in one year - just as well I've got plenty of backups...

When I tried this soap (11/5/21) I found it had a narrow "window" for getting the lather just right, as I over-watered it at first. When I fixed it up, it worked about as well as most premium artisan soaps.

We don't see that knife in action very often. A mighty handsome instrument.

I guess that answers what I was going to ask about how hard it is to hone a double-hollow blade. I've never done it.
This one is definitely going back to DC Blades for a service. I am yet to master the slightest of smiling blades and would not allow myself to practice on this masterpiece

Haward Razor (Feather clone AS D2) Thanks Rodney Well My memories of a Feather AS D1 are long ago as actually the AS D1 was my first DE Razor bought for me by my Son. This Haward Razor has about for me anyway as much similarity as an MGB compared to a Ferrari. Aggressive would be my description, blade exposure made me nervous soon as I loaded the blade. It's set like on 5 possible 6/7. Material wise it's way to light in the hand needs a steady and very attentive shaver to get the job done without slicing your ear off. Knowing it's origins from China shows they might think they are getting it right on the odd occasion but a long way from it yet in my opinion. For me personally this would be a one off scared me way to much. Rate it, me personally again 4.5 / 10.

Stirling Haverford Soap Good soap but funnily did not excite me as much as it did a few shaves ago but lathers well.

Starke Blade just does not want to stop giving it just keeps doing it well.

Semogue 1305 Boar. A brush I had a few years ago remembered well, hence the reason I bought a new one recently.

OUTCOME of Shave Close Shave that much it did but not so that I enjoyed it

Sticking with the theme of unobtainium, the legendary Lodz Polsilver with the tallow Tabac.
Great 2-pass DFS with this combination.

Gotta love that Feather AS-D2S I noticed you were clever enough to put the little rubber ring on your stand. I never bothered and now that I can't find it I am very annoyed about it and miss it. LoL
It'll turn up someday.

So many razors to use but somehow I keep reminiscing about the feather as-d2. Wonderful razor.
Great blade btw!

I'm not an SR guy (yet, never say never) but that one got my attention! Beautiful steel........

Post Shave: Hot Shower
Brush: TF Customs - Blurple 28mm Timberwolf
Soap/Cream: A&E - Club Baccara
Razor: Muhle - Rocca R94
Blade: Gillette - Minora SS (47)
Post-shave: A&E - Club Baccara AS splash / A&E skin food nourishing cream

2 pass WTG + touchups daily shave = BBS. Wow what a shave, so smooth. A surprising BBS result. It's shaves like this that cement this razor as solid performer to always remain in rotation.
