The Aussie Spoiler blade worked wonderfully well with the Blackbird.

Is that Bootleggers El Dorado Aftershave Lotion as good as everyone seems to suggest?

Are there equally good other options in the 'Bootleggers' range?

How is the Vector @Hos is it a DE and RAD killer?

It's a fantastic razor for sure but I equally like my much cheaper (and flawed) Fatip.

I have to say though, the Vector was one of the reasons I got myself a straight razor : It's so easy to get a close and smooth shave with the Vector that I decided to get a straight to challenge myself a bit. As far as SE disposable blade razors go, IMO it'll be hard to improve on what the Vector is offering.

Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
Brush: TF Customs - 28mm boss knot
Soap/Cream: Noble Otter - Neon Sun
Razor: Karve CB - Copper C145 (E)
Blade: Gillette - Stainless ( red & white) (24)
Post-shave: Nobel Otter - Neon Sun AS splash / A&E - skin food nourishing cream

2 pass WTG + touchups daily shave = DFS+. The blade flip provided a smoother shave than yesterday, very nice.

Pre-shave: Hot shower

Soap/Cream: Squadron Soaps Empire shaving soap
Razor: Muhle R95 Rocca Birch Bark handle
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (7)
Post-shave: Squadron Soaps Empire splash
Fragrance: N/A

Does it get any better?

Brush: Proraso Omega 48 Chrome 28mm Boar
Razor: Smart Helix Apollo H 0.50mm Mild Plate
Blade: Kai (1)
Pre: Shower
Soap: B&M Lime, Lavender, Cedarwood
Post: Alum Block // B&M Lime, Lavender, Cedarwood A/S Splash // The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 30 ml
WTG, ATG, Touchups = BBS

A bloodbath shave as I managed to repeatedly cut myself on the chin but nothing the trusty alum block couldn't heal. Started with the Aggressive side and was way too harsh but barring the slipups the shave was super close and somewhat smooth. Not a big fan of the cedarwood as overpowers what is a nice scent however soap performs great... :nurse:

Stay Safe & Happy Shaves!

Every time you show us your kamisori, the blacksmith in me has a little chuckle at the tangs, which are always ever so slightly wonky. It's a symptom of a smith who has a bit of a dip in his anvil. And who doesn't? My biggest anvil certainly does (yes, I still have it) but if I need to hammer something truly straight, I can always use the side. I wonder if all those Japanese smiths cared, or if they just thought it's kind of cool. I think it's cool, but I could never bring myself to leave it like that. Mainly because I know the old man who trained me would have just fixed me with a baleful eye as if to say WTF?
After your comment I had another close look at the razor and thought I'd show view from top where they welded the hard (expensive) steel to the softer cheaper steel. Must have been a Monday morning one or by an apprentice. Shaves like the best of them though.

Oooh. My old boss would have given me a hard time for that. If there's any evidence the two metals were ever separate, then they're not welded, and it would never leave the shop. But then, he had a jaundiced view of many smiths' skills. "Some phuckin blacksmiths never learn how to fire-weld". I've seen enough to agree...

But if it works, then it works I guess, and my cranky old bastard and dear friend is most likely long dead by now...
