Finally did it!!! a two pass shave without an ATG :eek: was a comfortable and close shave, no BBS but a very nice DFS+

would I do it again? nah.. just didnt have that wow factor, at least that silliness is now crossed of the bucket list :cool:

A new soap for me from Salt lake Soaps, a local Aussie producer. Really nice scent, not overpowering like some others, but a subtle masculinity wafting through the bathroom. I like it!
Lathered well and lasted all 3 passes, slick and comfortable. 200grams in a 9 x 5cm tub I thought was good value too.
I spoon scraped this soap into a bowl to lather up. Seems easier to control moisture content in the lather that way.
Sandalwood and Leather scent is next.

SOTD – SUN 11 SEP 2022

SEptember, StirlingSeptember : featured soap is Stirling Soap Co. - “Light-ish Red”, a special edition soap that comes in 3oz jars. Light-Ish Red described as: “It's a bright, woodsy fragrance for men. It has notes of fir, lemon, orange, cardamom, petitgrain, and sea at the top. Rosemary, lily of the valley, jasmine, rose, and sage in the middle. The base is composed of musk, vetiver, oakmoss, rosewood, and sandalwood. Inspired by Abercrombie Fierce”.

Shave Result: As with all Stirling soaps I quickly built a rich, dense, creamy lather in my bowl from a half teaspoon scoop of soap. Stirling lather has never let me down and this one was no exception with excellent performance. From the lather I get a very pleasant bright Woody Floral cologne type aroma, scent strength 5/10. Overall the Twig gave me a lovely smooth shave with just a couple of weepers.

The name of the base for this soap made me giggle: chupacapra. Maybe Shannon's were fresh out of sasquatch tallow... :unsure: The scent is pretty full-on: this is what Shannon's says about it: "Sultry and exotic, Indigo Oud starts with a spicy base of vanilla, sandalwood, and oud, adds warm leather, tobacco, and ambergris, and is topped off with lively black currant and bergamot." I'm not sure how much I get of that, but it goes well on a frosty mooring.
