Yup, Yaqi Mandarin G4. Small 22mm knot so it's quite scrubby without being too prickly. Is that a Yaqi (chinese) brush?

I've tried the included Personna Super, Gillette Platinum, King C Gillette. Platinum was the "best" so far. Given the amount of blade feel don't think I will venture using a Nacet or Bic.
#12 - Stroppe Shop, Black Tie
Alpha shaving, Outlaw titanium
Blackland Dart + Astra
I've yet to decide whether I like the Dart or not. I've tried a few different blades with it, but each time I'm not loving the amount of blade feel and therefore the "efficiency". Will continue the search the right combo though. I welcome suggestions.
That would have been my suggestion. Less distance edge-to-edge = less blade exposure. Good luckNext one I'm gonna try is a Minora.

Sorry to hear that. Just goes to show Tasmania doesn't have a monopoly on scary weather. Reminds me of a nasty hailstorm we had in Perth 13 years ago. I was out in a soft-top car at the time, and 6cm hailstones were hammering everything.
Soap: Squadron Scramble
Brush: Paladin
Razor: Gillette New
Blade: Dorco (1)
Lovely shave with this set up.
We got hammered with the worst hail storm I've ever experienced on Thursday night. I've seen golf ball hail before but not with this ferocity. It was taking chunks of timber out of the hand rail in the image. The brick wall was sand blasted leaving grit along the deck. The sliding door perforated screens were pocked, window frames dented. The cypress trees in the background are typical of how trees were stripped. Our driveway was green from a stripped pine. So much for new house......roof and flashings are trashed, colourbond wall cladding, windows (cracked only on house but broken on shed)........ etc etc Good news is no one hurt and house is functional with no water intrusion. The wind was so vicious it had pushed the rain up underneath the ridge capping lining the upper under surface of the ridge capping with water. So water had got into the ceiling space in a dozen places but not in volumes large enough to cause damage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fortunately it didn't quite get to me. The roof helped reduce the impact. It was still buggered though, and everyone's car looked like it had been gone over by a football team with baseball bats.Ouch..
