Don't knock it until you've tried it.
Pass me the Yardley ....... NOW!
Don't knock it until you've tried it.
Thanks to @Gargravarr for the introductionHow many bloody vintages Yardley loves here on P&C? so far?
Well, your generous unsolicited contributions, plus that from @Mark1966 just the other day have left my stash (I don't say "hoard" because it's all going to get used) just about neck and neck with my Valobra stash. Given that I'm definitely here for a good time rather than a long one, I expect this will do me for the rest of my days. If I ever get to the stage when I can't shave myself, that will be the time to sail off into my Nembutal Sunset, washed down with a suitable Islay malt...Thanks to @Gargravarr for the introduction
Hi @MadFlava81 doesn't the SS Karve Overlander meet requirement for a daily shaver, or too mild? How is the Blutt 86 plate @Holiday ?
If I’m looking for a daily shaver with less blade feel?
The Karve Overlander shaves exactly like a Karve CB 'B' base plate and is on the mild side in between the EJDE89/R89 to Merkur 34CSS Karve Overlander
Yeah, I love it. Perfect razor for me. Interested in the Blutt, also. How would you compare the two?Hi @MadFlava81 doesn't the SS Karve Overlander meet requirement for a daily shaver, or too mild?
Just got the 0.99 plate back from @TomG so I can give an update in a few weeks but I think with the Blutt as with Muhle R94/5/6 and Rockwell 6S I might be in the minorityYeah, I love it. Perfect razor for me. Interested in the Blutt, also. How would you compare the two?
Interesting choice of blade for a baseline. Many consider them a bit blunt, but I guess they are probably the most easily available blades in Australia...Just got the 0.99 plate back from @TomG so I can give an update in a few weeks but I think with the Blutt as with Muhle R94/5/6 and Rockwell 6S I might be in the minority
Going back to the GC_84-P to baseline and be sure I am not fantasizing over what good feels like
Pre-shave:- Shower
Brush:- NCWoodDesign Bog Oak 26/50 untreated boar
Soap:- Le Pere Lucien - Le Savon du Barbier
Razor:- GC_84-P on custom NCWoodDesign Bog Oak handle
Blade:- Astra SP (1)
Aftershave:- Le Pere Lucien - Lotion du Barbier
That's why the Astra SP is the middle of the road for everyday shavers and STILL the most easily available blade in Australia.Interesting choice of blade for a baseline. Many consider them a bit blunt, but I guess they are probably the most easily available blades in Australia...
You don't need this crap, if, you're using my recipe.
T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Invite E High Potency Pure Oil (10 drops), Natural Plant Glycerin (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)What's the recipe please?

Do you get any tea tree scent from 5 drops in 240ml? No. As long as you don't go over five drops maximum so the Tea Tree oil doesn't smell too strong and will also burn the plastic bottle, keep it below 5 maximum so that will not clash with any Eau de Toilette or cologne fragrance. Be careful with menthol otherwise, your eyes will start crying very badly, I would use Peppermint EO to give you a nice cooling effect. PLEASE do this in a glass bottle for your own experiment, because, the more EO or FO you add may burn the plastic bottle, and is best to use a glass bottle. Too much Tea Tree oil isn't good for your skin, please keep this in mind. Thanks!

I've been using the same ASB for 15 years as is really suits my skin (I react to most scented ASB).
But it looks like the company may be discontinuing it so I'm thinking of a DIY alternative.
I may tweak your recipe to: witch hazel, sodium lactate*, menthol, tea tree EO.
*Sodium lactate is stronger than glycerine without the stickiness. Please try it if you can.
I'll never go back to glycerine.
