Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus High Mountain White Badger
Soap: Sir Irisch Moos
Razor: Schick Injector Type G
Blade: Schick (2)
Post: Thayers Cucumber / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: L'Artisan Parfumeur Fou d'Absinthe

I was expecting the Sir Irisch Moos to be good, but whoa! It has a nostalgic old school fresh scent, and a few notes that give away its personality as a stablemate of Tabac. I normally have to work a little to build lather on my face with sticks, but this soap lathered quickly and produced wonderful lather. Whilst I do not know for sure, I suspect it is the identical soap base as Tabac. Mäurer & Wirtz certainly know their stuff. The lather was very dense and creamy, with excellent residual slickness. Lovely post-shave feel, also. Three passes with the Type G, with a buff or two along the way, for a DFS+. A generous application of Fou d'Absinthe, and I am feeling wonderful. :D

Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
Razor: RR Mamba
Blade: Rapira P/Lux (5)
Scuttle/Bowl/Mug: Shave Factory mug
Soap: The Shaving Co. Eucalyptus & Mint puck
Pre: PAA Cube + Shower
Post: Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / PAA Atomic travel aftershave + Proraso white balm

A quick shower shave with the Mamba and no matter the effort of number of passes attempted, I was only able to achieve a SAS due to the roughness of the blade :( I really want to like Rapira but I'm yet to find the right DE to match it with and sadly the Mamba was my best bet and it failed last night! Really enjoyed the pre + soap combo as it left my face cool and refreshed so not all is bad :) I'm gonna skip a shave today/tonight and try something different come Friday... Happy shaves!

Razor: Vintage Gillette British NEW head on a TSW Bren handle
Blade: Polsilver 'Brown' (5)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch distressed Culmak reknotted with TGN Finest
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Mycroft shaving soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Mycroft splash
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Mycroft EDP

4:38am is not a great time FOR a shave, but it can be the time OF a great shave!

Splitting hairs? Nah, slicing them clean off!

[inspired by @Pbgoose I'm afraid]

What else to use when you are about to be skulking around in the wee hours of the morning but the Mycroft, rich, dark, mysterious, and a little on the edge.

Yaqi Tuxedo
Declaration Grooming Darkfall Soap/Splash/EdP
TSW After Balm

First use of Declaration stuff.

I had a hard time getting volume of lather with this soap. But damn was it slick! Gave a beautiful shave. The polsilver is starting to dull a bit though.

I was not sure about the scent when I first got this. I thought it was way over the top. I was wrong! It must of just been the light spillage after the 3 months of shipping. The EdP is slightly different to the soap and splash but definitely in a good way.

Sir Hare - Third Eye

Anherb balm

Very underrated soap!!
Really nice scent, quite unique.
Not sure if they are still selling soap but if you can get it, I'd highly recommend it.
Their barber shop is also really, very nice!

Another great shave with the Yaqi head.Whipped up a heap of creamy lather and after second pass went for another because I did not really want to waste the soap.Noticed the teeth a lot more on the last pass, especially on the chin but no irritation.I like this head so much I have decided I will be ordering a spare.

Valobra Almond - Soft Soap
Olay Men Refreshing Energy Post Shave Toner / Natio Maximum ASB

I thought this soap was rubbish the first dozen times I had used it. I do think it's finicky - The looks of the lather can deceive you into thinking it's just right, but in actual fact, it's too thick. Add a little more water and suddenly it's too thin. There's only a very small window in getting the correct product/water ratio. IME, I found that a synthetic brush helped me achieve the most consistent & best possible result. When you hit the nail on the head in getting the lather consistency right, it has very good slickness & good (but not superb) cushion. I do think it has one of the best post-shave feels I have experienced (There's definitely something about it that feels pure & natural). This was my first luxury-branded soap that I had purchased back in May 2015. Three years later and it's done & dusted (as mentioned in the finished products sticky).

The Weishi is well built with nice plating and no alignment issues. However, it is a very mild shaver. You could almost shave blind-folded with it and not do any damage. With a bit of effort, it can still provide an acceptable DFS shave. However, I have not yet been able to achieve that rewarding DFS+ shave, which makes you feel like a million bucks. Maybe it's all just a state of mind.

Have a great Friday everyone !!

Man! I'm tired and my whole body is killing me for moving around so much to do on my unit, I'm having a break tomorrow and the final painting touch up on Sunday should be finished around lunchtime.

The electrical and minor plumbing work can start Monday (hopefully) before they lay in the new carpet, and then the new furniture can go in soon.

Anyway I'm off to lodge tonight because I missed the guys and my relaxation enjoying my Scotch Whisky.
