Since I didn't get to creating the September thread, I decided to get in early on the October thread.

Incoming for me:
  • 500 PermaSharp Super blades (Russian Cardboard)

Decided I might buy a few other things, just waiting on this bloody tax return.

A few of those Perma sharps (hopefully).

100 Gillette Yellows. Yay, my first bulk blade buy.

Nuthin else. Except a cheap Semogue PJ is reknotting for me.

Related to above, two 18mm Best badger knots from The Golden Nib. One's for Drubbing's soon to be ex-noodle Semoque and the other for a travel brush I'm reknotting.

Well, when I said nothing else, I didn't count the T&H sample bag, which arrived this morning. Along with Son No.2's Room on the Broom. Clearly not from T&H.

I've got pretty much the whole range of creams, balm and colognes. I've got the spanish leather cologne sample if anyone wants it. I mostly wanted the Sandalwod stuff, but thought I might as well spring for the lot, given the postage was the same.

Sandalwood cologne is pretty meh on first impression. Much prefer TOBS.

Once more I am more than willing to try anything that is no longer useful to its owner.

How are you getting on with the Featherweight? Or are you growing a beard so you can tell us young wippersnappers what a real wiry beard is like.

Next to try once my Gillette Blue dulls out. Would never contemplate growing a beard because A: I now have too much fun shaving and B: she whom I share bodily fluids with with have me out the door in seconds. (In reality B does carry a bit more meaning than A)

I got my mensbiz box o gear today.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Nathan had thrown in a D R Harris Marlborough soap. What a nice guy :)

100 Personna reds - made in Mexico...I thought they were israeli?

Lucky Tiger Face wash

Proraso cream

3 x packs of Gillette yellows

Jermyn AS. Mmmmmmm this is so good.

So for October I think my shaving.ie purchase will have to suffice - should be here next week I imagine.

100 Voskhods and an EJ Sandalwood cream tube.

Drubs I will happily give you a share of the EJ sandalwood as you seem to be on the quest for perfect sandalwood.

Hell yeah, do a happy dance!

I swear he trawls the forums and watches what we buy.....

They are Israeli manufactured and packaged in Mexico. While that does not meet our labelling standards, it is fine in Mexico.

Lucky Tiger Face wash
Interested in this. Post more info and how it goes.

Proraso cream
Yup.... the good stuff.

3 x packs of Gillette yellows
I think they are good but not as good as the Bleues, or the Permasharps. Still, see how they run for you and then make a decision.

Yeah boy, now we are talking. Just be sparing with the application, it is an oil-based AS. The scent lasts really well, and as the first person on Oz to have it, I congratulate you on your excellent tastes!

Mate, you are going to be set for a while with that lot. :weird:

How can you tell, does it say on the blade or wrapper? I've got both the cardboard red pack and the red wrapped ones in dispensers and they're the same blades, same stamps etc. Doesn't say where they're made on there, only that they're distributed by America Safety Razor.

Either way, see how they shave.

Thanks on the sandalwood.

You know what, it doesn't say anything on the blade, and on the packaging all it says is assembled and packaged in Mexico. It also doesn't say where they are made.

I did jump the gun there.

September is closed despite it still being September so I have to post here.

For me September has finished on a high note - a #70 set is coming my way. It cost a little more that I would have liked but it fills a gap.

Apart from about four items and excluding Brazilian and other weird variants I have an example of every razor on this page. I don''t have as many variants or sets but a fairly representative sample.

This will stop soon will it not????

..........This will stop soon will it not????

No. There's a full collection of adjustables including the illusive bottom dial fatboy and then an endless variety of closed and open comb three pieces going back to the early 1900s. You're not finished yet.

He flicked me the Arlington too. Be interested to see how you go with it. I'm finding it a very hard soap. So much so, I'm keeping it moist so hopefully it will soften. That's the sort of behaviour that would see me ostracised and blacklisted from you know where.

Bloody hell! Looks like you're almost finished. How long did it take?

It has been about 18 months now :)

The question is less about how long and more about how much - but I'll plead the 5th on that question (despite that being a stupid answer in Australia although we have a protection against self incrimination we don't have a fifth amendment that confers it)

Funny thing is Mark, beside the lack of said amendment, we understand what it means and won't pull you up on that technicality (damn you raft of American TV shows - said as I literally just finished watching the newest Big Bang Theory)

I knew you wouldn't pull me up anyway - aren't shaving forums full of gentlemen?

BTW - just because I know you would want to know:

Evidence Act 1995

Section 89 Evidence of silence

(1) In a criminal proceeding, an inference unfavourable to a party must not be drawn from evidence that the party or another person failed or refused:
(a) to answer one or more questions, or
(b) to respond to a representation,
put or made to the party or other person by an investigating official who at that time was performing functions in connection with the investigation of the commission, or possible commission, of an offence.
(2) Evidence of that kind is not admissible if it can only be used to draw such an inference.

(3) Subsection (1) does not prevent use of the evidence to prove that the party or other person failed or refused to answer the question or to respond to the representation if the failure or refusal is a fact in issue in the proceeding.

(4) In this section:
inference includes:

(a) an inference of consciousness of guilt, or
(b) an inference relevant to a party’s credibility.
