Maybe the rest of my brushes are shite, don't really think so, but this thing is a world apart. Was told to use it on a hard so, so selected a soap that had been sitting on the windoe sill in a ramekin dish for about 6 weeks. It was all broken into small pieces as well. Dunked the Blobbie into hot water - stirred it around for a few moments and had lather like I haven't seen before - lovely bubbly lather that simply flowed on. It was such fun, after the first pass I totally relathered (plentry of suds left on the brush) and went a second time. After that I washed my face abd carefully felt for areas of roughness - attacked those with the brush and the Slim and ended with one of the best shaves ever.

To the seller and the maker my thanks (all I need now is to find a way to make the whiskers grow faster).

Glen (how was that Drubbing?)

Close, but not convincing enough for my liking.

Time to pop over the 'Pond'.....

Ok how about "I got the same sensuous feeling I get when I am firing my AR16 at targets of Muslims and Liberals. A deep down sense that god is watching and approving of my actions". Over the pond enough?

You need a bit of help...

His soap loading technique is pathetic though. No one will ever get a decent lather with a '3 second spin'. As Dave Grohl would say - load the muthafukinspaz like it was your last shave.

On second thoughts, probably need to find a better vid.

I was going to say, having watched the first video that unlike the gentleman being filmed, and possibly residents of WA, I have no real need to shave the palms of my hands. :)

Also due to the fanatacism of my wifes cup washing. we grow very little cup fuzz either. :)

The last couple of shaves I have had, the lather wa smore like a smear of cream across my face (I suspect my brushes were not retaining enough water to really get a good lather going) on the other hand because the soap I used tonight was so dry, I simply dipped the Blobbie in the water and went straight to the soap. So it may prove that lack of water was the cause of an earlier problem. I will of course watch the second video and learn whatever I can.

Glen (the smooth palmed one).

No, no no, let me show you how.

I received my Blobbie today [shows urgency of providing feedback over such an exciting event] and as as soon as I opened it I said to SWMBO [use these sort of cool terms to show how hip you are] - WOW, this is H-U-G-E [size is important as we all know, get the size clear first].

A TGN Best knot at about 45mm high - seems higher than the old World Trade Centers - paired with a Smog 1460 handle - and we all know they're nice handles, Leon at Vintage Scent is a great vendor and an incredible guy [need to get a gratuitous vendor plug in, never know, you might get a freebie]. Good flow, kills soft or hard soaps of any description, makes lather stupidly easy and very quickly - this is going to be great.

Fortunately I'd not shaved for three days and had a wicked growth [funny how this is always the case] so I went straight to the bathroom [again the sense of urgency needs to be stressed] to give this baby [note use of slightly misogynist language] a whirl.

Well, this baby didn't let me down. A splash of water then thrust into the Cella, my favourite Italian soap [you must ALWAYS use Cella]. I followed Marco's technique (see the 14 pages of discussion here). Thick rich lather, enough for 99 passes [emphasise quantity again] which the consistency of thick yoghurt. It was amazing. I've never experienced lather like this before. It takes shaving to a whole new level. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe how my face feels when I apply this lather, it makes me think of the breath of angels softly caressing my cheeks.

I had my Fatboy dialled up to 9 with a fresh Feather loaded, but I didn't feel it as it seemed to float across my face. Never, ever, has this ever happened to me before.

SWMBO commented not only on my silky smooth face but on my radiant glow. It was as if I'd emerged from the experience with a glow about me from being in the presence of such an amazing brush.

This one if definitely going into my rotation [this bit I don't get - if it is SOOOOO good why only IN your rotation?].

Thanks again to Drubs and Paste and Cut [make sure you thank profusely] for allowing me to experience this incredible brush [look out for it in to weeks on B/S/T as I move onto the next BIG thing].

There you do - does that help? What do the others think? Maybe we should score our attempts!

What he said.

Mark - you realise the sad thing is - that came very easy, didn't it? It's not like you were even trying.

I live in Canberra, part of job is writing submissions - so B$ comes naturally!

Actually it took a little thought - but I'm pleased with the result :D

Best shaving brush thread ever!

Don't know what to say here. There's so much to read in these 14 posts it'll take a while to digest. Glad you like the brush, Glen.

I do indeed like it which was all I was trying to say. Not too sure where all the rest of the creativity came from.

Don't sell yourself short, you're a born salesman.
Your words were wondrous velvet to the ears of punters spellbound by the majesty of it all.

Now go load up that ar15 and shoot some rounds at targets that resemble liberals or hippies, after all, it's a new year and it's your god given right!

Without wanting to create another orgy of hyperbole and video examples of people lathering their hands, I offer the folowing observation.

Those that remember earlier posts about Berts Bees soap will recall I could not get anything out of it. Used it with the Blobbie and (being very careful how I phrase this) the results were more than satisfactory. This means either my technique has improved immensley or I have got a very good brush. I am inclined toward the latter but do not, of course, wish to get too carried away.

Glen (subtle is best).

First rule of Canberra - why say in 10 words what you can say in 100!
