Razor: Rockwell 6S - 4
Blade: Voshkod (2)
Brush: Semogue SOC Boar
Soap: Crown King - The Kiss
Post: Witch Hazel, TSW Balm

My first use of plate 4 on the Rockwell today. Result was one of the closest shaves I’ve had in quite a while and zero irritation. Very happy, looking forward to trying plate 4 with a Polsilver next.

I finished off my sample of Crown King “The Kiss” Soap. This stuff almost built a lather just by looking at it! The scent is sweet and floral, which is not what I normally go for, but to my surprise I actually quite like it. I'm going to have to pickup a full puck. “The Tea Party” soap also sounds interesting, not sure if anyone else has tried it????

Gotta love the 6S it gives a great shave !!

Spring was most definitely in the air today....... about a month too early, so thought i'd better take full advantage of the feeling. Lovely refreshing and uplifting Cucumber & Mint scent to this soap.

Was at the gym this AM pre physiotherapy for a slipped disc in my neck, reached up to grab the bottle of aftershave off the shelf, hit a nerve and lost feeling in my arm and my grip....... bottle crashed to the floor. Last i moved that quick was when an Englishman offered to buy me a pint . Managed to save most of it over into a new bottle........ plastic this time (y)

Preshave: Facewash Banh rice-milk soap.
Razor/Blade: "Mongoose" w/Kai Captain (10 shaves and still going strong!)
Soap: The shaving shop "Thirst quencher"
Brush: PantaRei mixed knot
Post shave: Thayers Lemon Witch hazel, Myrsol Lemon splash, Emulsion balm, "thirst quencher" aftershave.

A great start to the midweek with the light, refreshing notes of the St James complimented by the spring bouquet of Fourth & Pine. The usual two passes then on with the goods, plenty of water for a thirsty soap makes for a very agreeable lather.

Have a blinder you bastards :)

@todras have you've tried Stirling Baker Street shaving soap??? since Stirling bought the soap recipe from Strop Shopp. So which soap you like best the original soap recipe from Strop Shopp or Stirling??

You seem to be a bit confused about the situation Speedy.

Stirling didn't buy the soap recipe from Strop Shoppe, Baker St from Stirling uses the standard Stirling soap base. The fragrance composition for Baker St was given to Rod at Stirling by the ex-owner of the Strop Shoppe so they could continue the fragrance as it was so popular.

I prefer the Strop Shoppe soap composition of Baker St. Stirling's Baker St is exactly like all their other soaps - a good mid tier performer but not exceptional. The Baker St fragrance is much stronger in the Stirling Composition however, something Rod said he would do when the soap was first discussed and announced.

If you like Stirling soaps, you will like Baker St - the fragrance is most agreeable :)

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When your shaves perfect in every way.
I can't wait
To shave every morning.
Cause the shaves get better each day.

To know that baby smooth feeling.
I've had a hell of a shave.
Oh Lord It's hard to be humble,
But I'm doing the best that I can.

The First Through The Fire Shave

Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Perma-Sharp SS (3)
Soap: Through the Fire M (first use)
Brush: K Shave Worx Gamechanger
Post: Tweed Iceberg washed off then APR Suitable Attired Australian

Thoughts...
- Through the Fire M is obviously inspired by Paco Rabanne 1 Million. Nice scent but not too strong. Slickness was excellent but cushion wasn't as good as the Whispers or K Shave Worx I'm using for my daily rotation. This was a disappointing but I did only buy this to pad out a PAA order I was making. But wow is it slick.
- Post was funny as I decided to try some NOS 60s Tweed Iceberg I picked up for $3 from an op shop. Sold itself as super cool. Well, this retro looking cologne has no menthol kick whatsoever, is a little vinegary from the bottle and dries down to a muted Tabac floral. I do not understand the iceberg name at all unless they mean cool in a non temperature kind of way. See pic below. Now I'm not a Tabac guy so I rinsed it off and put some @todras on my face like a boss.

Mid Tier as in not top tier imho. I reserve top-tier for MdC, SMN and a couple of others but everyone will have their own opinions in this regard I suspect.
Ah - finally something we disagree:

Stirling = Top Tier
MdC = Average Tier

If you factor in price

Stirling = Über Top Tier
MdC = Somewhere down the cellar

Waiting for the Pork Chops :D :D :D

Could have been worse @Alba65 - that beautiful PantaRei Brush could have hit the tiles!!
Hope the neck improves - you need your hands to shave ;)

MdC is the single most overrated soap. I think it must be because people pay a decent sum for it they almost feel obliged to say it's better than it is, secretly I know they cry themselves to sleep.

Come at me bro...
MdC does have a nice glass jar though...

Stirling is firmly mid tier.... but that's just me. :)

Shavemac 26mm 2 band D01, Tanifuji 6/8 Full Hollow Square, B&M Arctic soap & splash, Yardley English Blazer

Another hot humid morning in NQ so the menthol dial was turned up to max. I ended up with some splash on my eyelid. That was not very pleasant but the coolth was very much appreciated. This razor is outstanding - another effortless BBS. There isn't so much scent with Arctic so on with English Blazer.

I smell awesome!

What he said

You are as welcome to share his opinion and it's invalidity as he is to hold it...

Seriously though, I regret even mentioning the ''tier'' of the soap now knowing instinctively the reaction it would receive, it's horses for courses in my book and one man's top tier is another mid and visa versa. I almost threw in a B&M ''tier'' comparison too and I am really glad now I didn't.

It's all good and I respect both of your opinions :)
